Michigan Shortlines - taking orders
Hello, I am planning my projects for 2009 and am taking orders for Michigan Shortline Railroads. No payment is due at this time, just trying to see how many decals i will need to order. Each road name will probably only have enough decals to make 8-10 locomotives so don't wait to reserve yours. If time permits i would like to offer the following this year:
- Central Michigan
-Phase 1: "CM" logo on GP40minus2 units
-Phase 2: "HESR" logo on GP40minus2 units (wide cab unit also available #9712)
-Phase 3: "CM" on u-boats
-Phase 4: "CM" on bloody nose paint scheme (SP).
-Phase 5: "CM" on ex-burlington northern/BNSF u-boat
- Huron and Eastern Railway
-Phase 1: high hood GP's in C&O paint scheme
-Phase 2: GP38's in C&O paint scheme
-Phase 3: GP38 in C&O stencil paint (201 only)
-Phase 4: GP38 in Rail America paint
- Mid Michigan Railroad
-Phase 1: GP38-2 in newer MMRR paint scheme
- Grand Rapids Eastern
-Phase 1: GP38-2 in newer GRE paint scheme
- Michigan Shore
-Phase 1: switcher in newer paint scheme
- Great lakes Central
-Phase 1: Newer blue paint scheme
- Lake State Railway (LSRC)
-Phase 1: Zebra stripe paint scheme on SD/u-boats
- Ann Arbor
-Phase 1: Latest paint scheme (very similar to UP)
- Adrian & Blissfield
-Phase 1: olive/yellow GP high hood.
"phases" listed do not refer to the order in which the paint scheme existed in real life, just a way for me to keep track. All above roads require custom decals. If you have any interest in adding one to your collection please let me know soon as i will be designing and ordering within the next few months. They will be VERY limited in quantity as i'm only having enough made to fill orders. No payment is due to reserve, i just ask that if you reserve one or more you hold to your word when they come in. You can review my previous work at http://www.oaklandcountycustoms.com. We offer the highest quality for the lowest price on the net. To reserve please e-mail me at Oaklandcountycustoms@yahoo.com and state what road and what phase you are interested in as well as quantity desired. If you wish to paint your own, i can make decals available by themselves also, just follow the same instructions. Also keep in mind that our prices drop almost 50% if you provide the locomotive to be painted. Thanks everybody and happy modeling!

Re: Michigan Shortlines - taking orders
Just wanted to point out that the GRE and MMRR engines are GP38's, not -2's.
How much are you asking? I'd be interested in a blue GLC GP35.

Re: Michigan Shortlines - taking orders
thank you for the correction on the MMRR and GRE... i think i'm just used to typing -2 after everything since GTW is my main focus. The price would depend on a few things... Are you providing the locomotive? What details do you want added on? Do you want prototypical nose headlights? Prices usually start between $50-$80 depending on base model.

Also REALLY INTERESTED!!!!! in the GLC GP35's!!!!
Get me prices per unit for them using Atheran RTR engines with correct detailing (headlight and the such). Interested in 2 or 3 of the GLC gp's

Do you print any decals for the LSRC 181 "Big Bertha" or LSRC 1280 "The Blue Devil"? I've always been interested in modeling those two locos just because of their names. Or, if you don't make decals available to others, would you be able to make those two locos? Would we have to provide the basic loco shell to you?

Re: Michigan Shortlines - taking orders
Gary... I have been doing research lately to see what i wanted to do for myself and i came across both of those and also share an interest in them so there is a good possibility both of those will be available. Yes, if you provide the shell/loco i can paint/decal them for a discounted price as i won't have the overhead of finding and buying the loco you want. Kaslo shops makes a good MLW shell with the wide cab that i am thinking about doing also... i think those are very distinctive...and easily compatable with Atlas UB chassis i hear. Since i am in the earliest of stages i am open to just about anything. However, the request for GLC has been a lot higher than anticipated. I only have about 2-3 reservations open for those. thanks for looking.

Re: Michigan Shortlines - taking orders
I have JUST recently done my first 2 N scale locomotives. I'd be willing to consider doing more depending on the paint scheme. I wouldn't want to take on something i wasn't 100% sure i could too in such small scale. What did you have in mind?

Re: Michigan Shortlines - taking orders
Id be interested in the CM C30-7 pair. I need to find a pair of Kato C30s first. I hope Atlas makes some soon, seeing as they have done lots of GE's in N scale.I have JUST recently done my first 2 N scale locomotives. Re: Michigan Shortlines - taking orders
price is still TBD. I am still in the design process and it will depend on how many orders i receive. i'd say most likely no less than $6-8 per set. I will put you down for some. thanks,

Atlas did some C30-7s in N scale? Guess Ill have to hunt.sd70accsxt700 wrote:Kato C30-7's I know Atlas did them a while back.
Edit: Chris, would you be able to do a set of decals for this unit? Im including it in my ficticious HO scale model railroad because Ive always loved the paintjob, even though the railroad itself was shady to say the least.

Re: Michigan Shortlines - taking orders
Decals should be no problem. Do you have other pictures of this unit so i can see the logo on the cab better?
