Unread post by lsi3009 »

well im looking too see what other modelers use too cut there flex track. and what they like better. in the past ive used my dremel, xuron track cutters and all purpose cutting shears. ive been using my xuron track cutters til two days ago when they broke, so know im down too my dremel and all purpose cutting shears. i dont use my dremel much because of the high speed and error u can make easy. what do all you modelers use and like the best.

I just use rail nippers.

I use the dremel, I double the grinding wheels and they last much longer. (way more than double)

I have a Craftsman Rotary tool which is the same thing as a Dremel. Best thing I've used for cutting rail as well as many other tasks. They have extra strength cut-off wheels that do last a lot longer then the paper thin ones.

I use the Xuron Rail Nippers when I have to custom cut a piece of track to fit the plan. Until I read some of the earlier responses to this thread, it never occurred to me to use a file with the rail nippers.
