Video help

Unread post by Old Hogger »

I have a video of my layout that a buddy did for me. It is about 45 minutes long, way too long to post anywhere. Is it possible to bust it up into small pieces, say 5 minutes or so?

Thanks.
Larry

Yes, any good video editing software worth it's salt will do this. Adobe, Apple, Pinnacle, Sony, all make good software to do this.

Something as simple as Movie Maker will work as well, this is what I use. Depending on where you post will depend on how long you want each part, I know youtube will allow up to ten minutes for each upload, this way you can reduce the number of parts if necessary.

Yeah windows movie maker would be the quickest solution it has a split button so when it gets to around 9:58 on the video you can just hit the split button and it will cut the video for ya. you tube lets ya post 10 min or 2GB of video at a time what ever comes first.

The MS MovieMaker worked good. Getting the video ripped from VOB to MPEG was the tough part.

See ya.

That's awesome Larry! I'm thinking about doing a helix for a second level myself. I need to make that decision soon though, before I do much more scenery.

Thanks. More videos coming (now that I might know how to do it).

Where in Grand Blanc are you located? I'm just down the road, Dixie and Grange Hall area. And there are still a few spots left for the Saturday ops session on August 8.

See ya.

I like how everything is set in the same era and look realistic. It also looks like everything runs smoothly. Nice work Old Hogger!
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

Thanks Don. Still a maybe you might make the ops on Saturday the 8th?

I put up a few more. All of these were done over a year ago, a lot more scenery has been done. If I can get someone to do some current videos, I'll replace these.

Larry, I'm just northeast of Baldwin & Fenton Rd in the condos there......You're not too far from me.....I'd love to come to the Saturday Ops session but already have prior commitment on that day......planning on another session anytime after that?
