Nice looking models sd70. Now it's time for you to build a layout for them to run on
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

Well Don in case you cant see it in the photos the benchwork is all done, actually been done as of last Jan, 1st. With other stuff going on this year taking away all our money, could not start laying track. Hopefully soon as things are starting to turn arould I can start laying track very slooooooowly. Then hopefully with income taxes I can get my DCC system in the spring.

I know that the 1312 and 1313 have 'low' stacks. Those stacks prototypical to the 1301? Doesn't look like it would be a hard change to make, someone would probably make a better 'flap' type stack that these Gensets have.

Know that you mention it yes I can see it :) Looks like pencil lines where future track will go.

The stacks are correct for all non dynamic units 1300-1307. The shorter stacks start to appear on the dynamic units.1308-1321.

Here is a non dynamci, shorter long hood.
Image

Dynamic, taller hood.

Also noticed that they have filled in all the missing numbers now. Also notice that they have standardised on a tall hood, no matter if it has dynamics or not. And now even the two genset locos are comming with everything installed in case they want to up grade them. Roster now looks like this

1300-1307 3GS21B Short hood non dynamic's, new frame, EMD trucks
1308-1313 3GS21B-DE Tall hood with dynamic's new frame, EMD trucks
1314-1315 3GS21B-DE Tall hood with dynamic's, GE frame and trucks.
1316 2GS14B-DE Tall hood with dynamic's, GE frame and trucks, has side vents for 3rd genset.
1317 2GS14B-DE Tall hood with dynamic's, new frame, EMD trucks, side vents for 3rd genset not there
1318-1319 2GS14B Tall hood with out dynamics, new frame, EMD trucks, side vents for 3rd genset not there
1321 3GS21B-DE Tall hood with dynamic's, GE frame and truck's.

Everytime I see a KCS in that paint scheme I can't help myself from staring for a while. I think that is the most wonderful looking of modern railroads. Excluding any "special" units like the UP Heritage fleets for example. But for a fleet pain scheme, its the best in my book.

Yea I know, I have walked into my layout room at least 6 times in the past 24 hours just to look at it. If I was to model a modern railroad based just on paint, it would be KCS.

I will be if I can acomplish a way to build Saginaw Yard, modeling it from Saginaw to at least Carleton, maybe Alexis or Dry Creek, where the spit between Walbridge and Stanley is. If I can fit it I will also try to inclued the branch to Bay City. If I cant find a way to make the Y yard and make it fit good, then most likely start in Flint and head south. This is still all a long way off, hopefully in the next two years I will finaly have a house. It will be double deck to triple in some spots if needed. Right now I have a table top around the wall 15 X 11 layout I am getting ready to start laying track on. It containes stuff from Grand Blanc, Flint, Rouge yard, ect. Just diffrent very small portions.

I like your locos you got Matt. Do you have a trackplan of your current set-up? It sounds interesting what you have going for your current 15 x 11.
