MMRR GP9 24

Unread post by GrandTrunkFan »

Well since fall and winter is comming and work on the summer hobby of turning wrenches on my trucks is comming to a close, Im shifting focus back onto my Greenville module that Im building in my office. One of the side projects I want to do would be building MMRR 24. Ive been looking at GP9 models and think I want to go with a Proto GP. Ive had Protos before and like them a lot. Although, their GP9s are all high hood. I know theres aftermarket cabs avalable, but is there a GP9 chop nose kit avalable? I dont dive too much into the diesel detailing pool so anyone who knows more than me, Id like to hear from you!

I'm not sure the is one for 24's style of chop nose. I had all the parts and the engine to make an MMRR 24 until recently. Start with a Phase III Proto GP9 without dynamic brakes. The best option for the cab is to use an Atlas SD26 cab if you can find one, it's almost a perfect match for 24's. The original proto nose can be chopped to match.

You might look at the Kalso Shops GP9R CN conversion kit. Just a thought.
