HO Bachman C40-8
I have a CNW, C40-8 standard cab, and the trucks have to much tilt to them, the slightest bump makes it derail, any ideas guys? I know its not the radius, I run it on our 18" christmas train during christmas, and on my layout off-season or atlest try to. Right now, it sits on a dead block.

Assuming you haven't figured out the problem yet, could it be a deformity in the trucks themselves? I had a problem with an Atlas unit in which the plastic that held the truck together wasn't as tight around the truck as it should have been and needed to be pinched in order to hold its' shape. Your unit may have a different problem, possibly something where the gearing in the trucks isn't sitting correctly or the wheels aren't sitting right in the sideframes. Not seeing your unit (and not having seen a similar unit) I have no idea if this will help or not. But in my experience, if I play around with something long enough, I can usually figure out what the problem is. Being able to fix it is quite often another issue altogether.

Mike take apart the frame and be sure to make sure you see how everything fits together, then remove the truck, after pulling out the truck, take the two metal contacts/prongs, they looke like a half circle, and bend them up. If you bend to far, dont worry, as you can bend them back down. These prongs provide the electrical pick up and also are used to keep pressure on the truck. If that dosent work then I think there is some kind of diformaty in the truck. Also make sure the wheelsets are in guage. For that you need a NMRA standards guage, they are only like 10 bucks or so. You can use that to mesaure the guage of wheels, track and lots of other stuff.
