Any one know?
Used my 70-300mm zoom yesterday and it workd fine. Today in Cresson atempting to shoot RJ Corman, I put the zoom on the camera and I can not get my exposures right. I usualy shoot at 800, F9 or so as a example. If I tried that today it was WAY WAY blown out. In order to even get a decent exposure, I had to shoot at 2000, F40 even though the camera was telling me to shoot at my normal.. Any one have any ideas? And for the record I double checked all my white balance, ISO, ect. and cleaned the contacts. if I put on my 90-22mm zoom, it workes just fine have no problem with exposue, come out just like expected. As a side note, it seams every so often, that when I zoom in or out, I get to a certen point and it gets hard to zoom for a split second. It does not do it all the time some times it will zoom smoth.

Sounds like one (or more) of the aperture blades are not functioning properly.

Surely sounds like one of the elements as mlm mentioned inside the lens.

I did a camera reset as Magnum suggested, and it works most of the time, a few times it was still acting up, but still works fine on the smaller lens.
