I know you can tour the GE Museum but IIRC, they do not allow tours of the actual plant floor.

Nor does EMD in London, Ont. It is all off limits. That is unless you look like you are applying for a job. Got inside London that way back in 94. A buddy of mine and myself went to London, just to get away for a weekend, around July 6th or so, and as EMD was owned by GM at the time, they were all off for shutdown. We did not even think about that, and walked up to the door to the plant. There were about eight guys standing around and we walked up to the door, where we were quickly meet by a older gentelman, who asked if we had our resume's done? We said we were not here applying for a job but was wondering if it were possable to get a tour of the plant. He said wait right here for a few minuets, and slowly all the other guys left after handing in there resume's. After about five more minuets, the guy came back to the door and said hurry up inside. After we got in he said that as it was shut down, the plant was closed and they dont give tours. But he then handed us a couple of hard hats, and told us to leave or cameras in his office, and he took us on a tour of the plant. Fist thing he showd us was this huge magnet board, with all these colord rectangles, on it, the rectangles had reporting marks and numbers. There were black, gray, green, and one other color I cant rember, but I want to say blue, but 90% were green, with 5% gray, with a few black, and the rest mis. colors. Then he took us into the main floor, where we first walked past a row of brand new sterable trucks, then down a row of upsidedown frames, and finally a bunch of cabs. He ended the tour by showing us the paint booth, where he took us up on two brand new locomotives. In fact he had to break the paper seal on the nose from where they had them taped off to paint them. First we went on a SP SD70M. Somewhere I have the number wrote down, but cant rember it. The second one he took us on (and I believe this is where my love of all SD70MAC's come from) was the BN 9414. After that he took us back to his office where we grab our cameras and he left us to leave, saying we could walk all around the fence around the plant and take photos, but nothing inside the building.
