Could you fix that shanty behind the unit too

Much better. We'll see if they go back and make tweaks, like they did on some of the heritage units.

I might be completely wrong, but I think simply changing the red pilot to black could help it a lot.

Ditch the red entirely, the red is an off color too.

Bring the red down over the windshield and then everything below that blue? I like the GP9 fan on the turbocharger, too. :P
What do you get when you cross a CP GP9, an NS SD60E and a former Conrail paint shop?

In all seriousness, CSX and BNSF should follow suit as well as UP.
GTW Also had an idea similar too this with GTW 1776. The unit is now scrapped, but NS Wasn't the only one too have an idea similar too this.

The GTW 1776 was NOT scrapped. It went on to become CV 5808, and now LLPX 2216.

The GTW unit was a part of the 1976 Bicentennial, in which most railroads had a unit to celebrate Americas 200th birthday.

Here are a few links to some of the bicentennial locomotives:

Many railroads had more than one.

I don't think that the NS engine could come close to most of those in terms of paint scheme. I agree with Y@ and the GG1 is pretty neat too 8)

One look at the Conrail GG-1 Bi-centenial unit and I almost had to get a new keyboard. Wow, the seventies sure did suc*. How did we ever make it through all of that? :?

This MILW scheme reminds me of another paint job used by a current railroad:

There were a lot of things wrong in the 70s. I'm sure glad we made it through that decade...
