Last night i heard CSX K408-15 heading through Fonda, NY. This is not a train i am used to seeing or hearing up here. Does any on know if this was a reroute or is a regular that passes through later at night?

i think its an ethanol train that is now routed via csx between selkirk and buffalo, and it runs through to the cp at buffalo.

Thanks for the info. I never actually saw the train that night just heard it on the scanner. Since then i have seen the K400 which is an ethanol train. So my guess is your probably right on the K408. Usually the ethanol trains that are coming through here are in the K6XX series and it was not until recently that i started to see the K4XX series show up. Thanks again.

Eastbound CP Ethanol. Takes CSX at Buffalo, usually after a CSX power swap, and then down to NJ. Returns to CP as K409. K400 trains tend to originate east of Chicago, and the K600 trains tend to originate west of Chicago, except for a few of the IHB.
