CSX (MI) Train Location Updates 2/10/11

Heads Up! CSX 7889 is pushing a Jordan Spreader, CR 64636, from Barr Yard in Chicago up to Holland, MI. They tied up today in the siding at Sawyer, MI. Crew called for 7am tomorrow. They are to plow all the major sidings and 3 miles of mainline on either side of the defect detectors on the line.

CSX dropped off a couple more Amways' to the GRE, yard is getting full of inbounds. They most likely will either hasve to double out of own or make consecutive day trips to Lowell. Engine on the rear of 371.

Q195 talking to mechanical? I'm compleatly taken aback! Motive power is really in sad shape. Some of it is barley running and making electricity to move trains...Time to put three on a train hopeing to have two or at least one go all the way thru???

I've noticed this lately...seems like trains down here are getting more power than usual and I've been hearing about bad power all over the place.

Nuts! I missed the snowplow! Went up north in the Roost Block about an hour ago, and then headed back south around 1:00 PM. Right by the house and I was tangled up in a teleconference!

1:50 PM - just had some other type of rail maintenance thing with the jet engine for melting snow go by heading north at Riley St. Holland...

Thanks much for the note! I went down there, got a bunch of photos of them. Big 'ol Volvo from HFB attached to three of the cars, pulled them north with chains, then went back and got three more cars, moved a bit, then had a real struggle getting the last car off the crossing. CSXT 6358 then tried to back up, it's south facing end buried in the snow, but couldn't get the south end to budge. Still stuck there as of 2pm.
