Hi there! New member here. Been looking at this website for a while now, and I've finally joined! I like to railfan along the Mt Clemens Sub, as my grandparents have lived in the Warren/Roseville area. Looking forward to post!
Also, 384 headed north from Nolan last night around 9:30. CN 2427 leading with 588 axles.

Re: CN Updates January 2016
From the Michigan Road overpass (west end of Port Huron yard), about 3:35 pm: (Blue) GTW 4909 was switching the west end of the yard (apparently mostly boxcars and empty frame flats). Two westbound trains were waiting to go west and L533 was sitting in the yard with an ex-CNW Dash 8-40C for power. L533 looked much shorter than yesterday's version, which had two units on the head end.
I also observed (either on Friday or Saturday) three tracks of empty well cars sitting in the yard at Port Huron (again, from the Michigan Road overpass). One track's worth of empty well cars wouldn't be remarkable, but I was quite surprised to see 3 track's worth of cars.

How long have you been a "Railfan?" What is your favorite railroad? Have you ever seen a guy (me) photographing/videotaping on the Mt. Clemens Sub.? My favorite railroad is the GTW and I have lived near the Mt. Clemens Sub. my whole life!!!! As of 6-1-2013, I joined the Michigan Transit Museum®—which I shall continue to volunteer for many years!!!! Fellow member DTI Dave, is part of that museum also (guess which part)! Actually my first train ride "Ever" was the MTM to Selfridge Air Museum® in 1988 when I was five!!!! I "Finally" joined their place like you "Finally" joined here! I also "Finally" joined after "Lurking!!!!" In fact, read my first post from 4-6-2010 on this link—
I find it "Funny" but somehow it got "Locked" by the man in charge: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=17132
I only shoot with "Film" cameras! My late Dad (RCJ I) taught me starting at age 6ix!!!! I started with a Canon® TX™ 35mm S.L.R. and the rest is "History!" I produce yearly train calendars (since 1999)! I laminate actual photographs showing my travels abroad! There's only one version like that (not 4 sale)! My Non-"Laminated" version is available yearly!
I am not "Pushing" a sale, but they can be mailed for $15 each—no shipping charge! They also are stocked at P&D Hobby®, Fraser and MTM station, Mt. Clemens! Just look for a Bessemer® cover photo (same as at bottom of post)! Tomorrow I will search for BLE SD38-2 #878 as the "Word" is it's probably working between Flat Rock and Dearborn!!!!
Here's one of my early photos from Mt. Clemens, 1991, and taken by me at age 7 (Canon® AV-1™ 35mm):
I took this on my only time to the BLE, Conneaut, Ohio, 5-2004—a good trip with Dad (Canon® AE-1™ 35mm):

My grandparents took me to the tracks when I was three, and now I'm almost 18! I've always enjoyed the trains along the Mt. Clemens Sub. I usually go to New Haven or Mt Clemens (if i'm in the area) to catch the trains.

On Michigan's Drive website, it shows that two roads are closed due to an "emergency train repair" in Marcellus.

Re: CN Updates January 2016
Yes it is! I missed the train number, but the GTW 4909 was leading 533 to Moterm earlier today. Running a little earlier this evening. Usually a six axle unit is leading, so a bit surprised with the GTW leading.AARR wrote:Is this the northbound intermodal from Moterm?MtClemensRailFan wrote:533?, GTW 4909, heading north from Nolan to Tappan with 124 axles

Re: CN Updates January 2016—BESSEMER® TIME!!!!
OK, I went lookin' for that "Bessemer®" locomotive, BLE SD38-2 #878!!!! At Schaefer Yard—there only was CN painted IC GP40R #3101 sitting! Now, I went to Flat Rock and
found the "Bessemer®!!!!" It was working the "Hump" on the east end of the yard! It had a CN painted RCO GTW GP38-2 (#5817) leading with BLE SD38-2 #878 trailing!
I took a few pictures from the end of Hall Road of the train switching! Man it was "COLD!!!!" OK, I thought it was alright to take pix there (behind poles with 'No Trsp' signs)—yet some workers came after the train backed in the 1st time! They said if it didn't come back in 15 minutes to "Disappear!" It didn't, but at least I caught a "Bessemer®!!!!"
Here is a "Drone" picture by "Michigan Central Lines" of BLE SD38-2 #878 at Schaefer Yard: https://www.flickr.com/photos/69532477@N04/23951382185

382 holding at Forest Lawn. Sounds like a broken rail in Chesterfield. Also waiting for 383 to head south.

A rare livery to see in these parts, KCS 4101 idling at the fuel dock at the CN Battle Creek yard.
