Just curious after monitoring the north end crew departure and arrival (back to Cadillac) times- seems fairly rare that the crews get a full 8 hour day in. Are they paid hourly, or by the day, trip, etc?

You've got to remember also that their departure time is when AANscaleRunner see them leave town.
Crew has to build their train at Selma after they work north yard, switch the feed dealer, plus any switching around enginehouse, and on return they may have to do more work.
Pretty sure they put in a full day, and then some too.......

Heard them move from Selma Yard to North Yard around 1000. Assuming they headed north after that since I haven't heard them again.

Returning to Cadillac from the north at 1515.

GLC 398-390-392-385-399 has been over on CSX at Howell for the last hour picking up cars off the CSX siding, after returning from Osmer with a grain load. Meeting a CSX local who went east while there, they told them they would be back to Howell on Sunday to pick up a potash train coming for them by CSX from Toledo. CSX crew said the train is in Toledo now.

I like your detailed information, BL2.

Whose bringing the potash train from Toledo, CSX or GLC? Do you know the destination of the potash train?

So if I understand the routing correctly it's CSX - GLC - HESR.

Correct. Used to go CP-CSX-LSRC-HESR.

Surprised it isn't CP -> CN -> HESR. Seems pretty convoluted!

Haven't heard anything in Cadillac today. Assuming they headed north before I hit the street at 0830.

Pretty sure they're not operating today. Opening day of Firearms Deer Season. We're not operating at the MAC transload facility.

Would that be the MAC facility in Middleton?

MAC operates the transload in Cadillac (North Yard). They load former sand cars and transport them to the MAC Middleton plant where the corn is processed then reloaded (train or truck) for final delivery.
