Re: Great Lakes Central Updates September 2017
Looking for the TC train today, I started at the train station, then to Beacon scrap. As of1345 no cars set out yet. I then went back to the train staion and the followed the tracks all the way to Holiday & 5 mile rd. still no sight of them. I suppose they could have still been at Amerhart, but I didn't go that far.
Edit: At Beacon there was a huge pile of scrap along side the fence where they spot the gons for loading. It wasn't there last I looked. They load the over the road trucks in a different part of the yard.

I don't think they came to TC today, unless it's very late. As of 1pm, no train had been through Keystone Road (a bit of sand on the rails at River Road).Pixl wrote:Looking for the TC train today, I started at the train station, then to Beacon scrap. I bet they'll wait on the next load for Amerhart before they go to TC. I don't recall seeing a centerbeam on yesterday's train from Clare to Cadillac.TC Man wrote:I don't think they came to TC today, unless it's very late. Light power northbound through Howell. Missed the lead but 392 was the second unit.

A center beam load came into Cadillac earlier in the week and has not come up yet. Also 2 empties at Amerhart.MiRailProductions wrote:I bet they'll wait on the next load for Amerhart before they go to TC. A quick drive past the Cadillac yards revealed the 3 gons and centerbeam are in the North Yard. A cement hopper and 4 tanks are spotted behind Family Video. Perhaps they ran to Elmira and Kalkaska today.

That would be fun, but we TC people depend on the Cadillac boys for a heads up to catch these runs. It would be hard to sit around every day at the train station waiting for a train. Thanks to you guys that help with this.TC Man wrote: One could always wish for a Saturday run....

GLC was back south through Mount Pleasant at 1535. I heard them but was unable to get a car count.

So looking at a 5 car train to TC this week. GLC high rail truck went on the Williamsburg and Grawn branches today.AANscaleRunner wrote:397 and 399 rolled into Selma Yard at 1815 with 2 tanks, 3 covered hoppers, 3 wood chip hoppers, 9 cement hoppers, 10 tie loads, 2 tanks, 1 loaded centerbeam and 4 tanks.

Heard them on the north end of Cadillac around 0900. Haven't heard them since, assuming northbound somewhere.

GLC 397 with 5 cars on the Grawn branch, currently at Beacon. Brought the 2 lumber cars to Beacon as well.AANscaleRunner wrote:Heard them on the north end of Cadillac around 0900. Haven't heard them since, assuming northbound somewhere.
Also MOW crew working in old Boardman yard. I saw a high rail truck, a tractor, and 3-4 MOW workers waiting for the train to clear their work zone. GLC used the Boardman Yard runaround to run around the train instead of the one by the depot when southbound to Beacon.
