Crew cab is here and train is getting ready to go. Solo GE on point with a big cut of gons on the top side. Can't see a number.

0255 Edit: Hearing them blow for Burton St in GR now. Gevo was on lead.

Did someone mentioned Helper? :D Don, I think the siding at Helper was removed sometime in the late 60s or early 70s.

hi jt
it was still in use in the mid 70's. i think the chicago sub dispatcher sheets i have are from 1976.
they show two crews working the hill jobs daily. i would guess it was the early 80's when the
daily trains dropped down to two each way ( 326 and 327, soo 500 and 501 ) and bigger motors came on line.
but i don't remember the approx timing, they moved alot of the traffic that went thru wyoming east and west
to the new dt thru northern indiana to help pay for the upgrades
take care and be safe
donnie
ps - i have your picture of the call ons signal you snapped at helper saved and backed up on my external drives.
pss - that would be the one with the coal on the move passing helper.

Q327-16 @ 9:38:50am westward Bangor Station mp CG60.5 with CSXT engines #850 + #5406 & 93 cars. He had picked up 21 cars from Holland. (The DD mp CG44.2 report was completely stepped on by radio interference).

D905-15 @ 10:10am eastward reported by the DD mp CH126.3 with 312 axles. CSXT engines #3211 + #738 (mid DPU?) & 75 cars. I don't know why he's calling out D905/D705. Thought I had heard him earlier in Grand Rapids as being D905. Also had heard earlier he's to tie down near the east end of Lake Odessa mp CH120.4

D905 is what they are using on the radio. Looks like they're trying to find a good spot to tie down. None of the roads seem plowed out there based on radio traffic. They came out of GR this AM.

Just heard him on the scanner saying "D705 D905". No idea why.
