CN Train Location Updates - August 2022

E251 NB outta FR with CN 2879/CN 3106/IC 9622

Passing through Bloomfield Hills at 4:30 pm. The GP38 seemed dead in tow. A lot of mixed freight on the head-end including tanks, sand covered hoppers (including WC) and empty centerbeams. Nice train and it made decent time here today.

CN 2261, 2256, & 2245. Through Common Rd. @ 17:38. Interesting to see a trio of older GEVOs elephant style.

Train 507 flying through Bloomfield Hills at 6:54 pm with two CN's, some mixed on the headend and a lot of containers. Again, seeing 507 before its SB counterpart 508. Maybe they are meeting at Pontiac Yard now or not meeting at all?

EB P364 was late so WB E251 went first, 20:09, by MP 202 in Charlotte.

LansingRailFan, were these old units sold to a "Scrapper?" Or were they sold to a railroad that is going to use them? Would have been nice to see this train. How many "Cowls" etc. remain on CN? Did this train go to Flat Rock? OK, the "Dead Cowls" didn't end up on E251 today! Does anyone where those "Dead" units went now? MAN!!!!

NO!!!!! I bet these are going to Chicago Heights Processing® for "Scrap!!!!" Some are stored in Centralia too! Are there hopes of these "Cowls" etc. coming back to service?

L506 is Toledo Lang to Flat Rock back to Toledo Lang. They are probably in Lang by now.

L506 is Toledo Lang to Flat Rock back to Toledo Lang. They are probably in Lang by now.

GTWChris, do you (or anyone) know where L506 is now? Man, looks like these locomotives could have been taken to Toledo for another train!!!!! Where can these "Dead" units be seen this morning? What train will take them out of Toledo, when? Wow, I did not expect this!!!! Are there going to be more units coming on future trains?

OK, a post reported on Facebook® "Tim's Railfan Group" Michael Wiley mentioned "CN 397 currently stopped at Georgetown, Ontario (waiting on 394) MP 23 Halton Sub as of 1049 with CN 5748, CN 8956, UP 8531, IC2466, CN 2576 & BC Rail 4609 F/R/F/R/F/F." This was at 10:51 a.m.

Now, did CN sell "Blue" IC C40-8W #2466 and BCOL "Cowl" C40-8M #4609? These two were recently "Active" on CN!!!! 2466 has P.T.C. Well, could these also be going to LTEX? If so, they probably will head down the Mt. Clemens Sub. Is CN C44-9W 2576 part of this? Or is 397 just a regular train using these old units? Are they still "Active?" That would be the best! MAN!!!!

Passed MP 22.5 on the Holly at Bloomfield Hills around 2 pm.

There was either a local 515 or 513 on the South Holly today with just three covered hoppers SB. It went South past MP 22.5 around 1 pm and returned light North around 3 pm. 5323 was the power.

Meeting E251 between cpPotterville mp208.3 & cpMill mp215.0. E251 sounded as if they'll be meeting one (an EB) at cpWalton mp197.0 E251 has CN duo #2245 + #2256
--- E251 west clear mp205 cam at 17:06:58. 372 axles / 90 cars

Two other WBs lined. The first is lined out of Flint/Bristol Yard mp263.8, and the other is lined on the Flint siding to the interchange Amtrak takes, cpFlint mp270.0

M396 east cleared mp205 cam at 17:37:19. Four CN, lead by #3167. Should meet another WB, possibly Q123, before reaching Okemos.

NB Train 507 passed MP 22.5 on the Holly at 5:36 pm on Main 2 where there was an at-speed meet with SB Amtrak 355 on Main 1 out in my backyard. 507 had some mixed on the headend, including an old Ontario Northland 50' boxcar with the ZZZ's in good shape, and containers on the rear. I guess no more Train 514 Container Shuttle on weekends anymore?

NB L507 lined thru Durand on the Jugh Wye to go east back to Flint

EB G88891-26, soybean loads to GLC>ZFS Ithaca off of the WSOR (Stringer, WI) is currently occupying the PH Wye as they back the train on to the North track. Power for G88891-26 is CN 2327/CN 5691/CN 8897
