My friend caught L305 in East Lansing and it had an EOT on the front of 8619, any clue why?
I would guess just for the sake of convenience, they are meant to go there more or less, so why not store it there?
If you don't mind, under my recent trip report post, telling me if that EOT was flashing? http://railroadfan.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=39277

Can't transport EoT in cab of locomotive. Job sometimes uses 2 of them to make the set off/pick up in Howell easier.

L302-14 by Howell at 18:18 with 65 cars. 3394 + 7240 on the head end. Train had one of those new gondola cars near the rear with the HUGE CSX on one end of it. First one I have seen in person.
Assuming the “HUGE CSX Gondola” was similar to this CSX Gondola that was on todays M326-14. Yes, I know it’s a bad angle shot of the train.
I just saw one of those new CSX gondola cars on M327-16 and it did not look like the one in the picture.

Andy24 if you or anybody else would like to view this car you can do so by checking out the Bangor WebCam as M327-16 passes through Bangor Michigan.

Would it be possible to report traffic on the Saginaw sub this summer?

BL2-1843 by chance is this the car that you posted about in the picture below?

Note: I apologize for the slight sunlight glare in the photo but that’s what the Bangor cam gave me this morning.

I wonder why CSX is taking the yellow off their rolling stock, these new gondolas and the new coil cars are both black and white instead of blue and yellow. I know it's probably cost related but still very boring

It would be nice if there is someone along that line could post rail traffic for that sub-division. I use the free online scanners at Broadcastify.com (they do offer a paid membership to listen to their scanners with no commercials for $30 a year) for my reporting & those scanner feeds are provided by volunteers who link their home scanners or other radios to Broadcastify's website.

What are the typical limits of the superscanner normally used on Broadcastify for West Michigan?

From Ensel mp CH90 on the Plymouth sub-division to mp CG94 on the Grand Rapids sub-division. When the atmospheric conditions are good we'll hear the DD at mp CG108.9 & the DD at mp CG131.3 Will also hear the DD's reporting from the Gary, Indiana area on the Garret sub-div.

Amtrak1007 provides 3 scanner feeds for us, he uses the type of radio that CSX has in their vehicles for each of the channels he provides. The antenna is located in Moline, Michigan about 14 miles due south of Grand Rapids & 37.7 miles straight line to W. Monroe St. in Bangor, Mi.

The antenna is 1,440 feet above sea level after you add Moline's elevation and the antenna’s 490 foot height position on the tower.

Busy 09:00 at Judd, grand elk inbound with 3531 and 12 cars, a mix of covered hoppers and boxcars, including 3 CP boxes. Z151 Marquette rail coming down to Plaster Creek right behind them, 3389, 3406, 3408 and 64 cars, a mix of all tanks and covered hoppers plus a single boxcar. Who gets the shortie covered hoppers on MQT with the SHPX and SHQX reporting marks?. Y106 ready to head east with CSXT 6544, 2 gons for Beacon, and 7 LPG tanks.

Nathan, the 2 bays on MQT go to Manistee, I forget exactly what they carry, but the product is used to make roof shingles. It’s newer business from sometime in the last 2 years or so.
