Re: CSX Train Location Updates - January 2024
The MQT grain train was called for early this morning in GR but has not left yet due to problems with their locomotives. Have not heard yet if they are going to grab last night’s L302 power or what.

G125 had been on duty since early this morning and had issues with the power. After troubleshooting and continued issues, crew was sent home. Likely waiting for power from M326 today to go east this afternoon.

M326-27 @ 12:17 east with a clear signal indication at Grandville, passing Franklin Ave mp CG6.13 with CSX engines #328 + #3440 (Spirit of Ravenna) & 54 cars. Thanks for the horn salute from the crew.
L303-27 @ 12:55 east with a slow clear off Plaster Creek with CSX engines #5262 + #42 (back to back) & 49 cars (33 loads + 16 empties) @ 4,824 tons & 3,048 feet long. He has work for Lansing. Thank you to the engineer for giving a horn tap and big wave from the cab
L303-27 @ 12:59 went into emergency(?) before Godfrey Ave mp CG0.99 for some reason. His EOT wasn’t flashing when passing me. At 13:02, L303 was on the move again.
Also at Wyoming Yard are CSX 410/CSX 3136 and CSX 7027 /CSX 3225. CSX 328/CSX 3440 also in the yard currently tying down their train
Does G125 usually prefer both head end power or DP power engines?

EOT's have a photo-resistor (like street lights do) to turn on their flashing red light based on the outdoor ambient light. The EOT's stripes serve as the daytime "last car" in consist instead of using a red flag. Freight trains are supposed to have a lit rear marker light from sunset to sunrise (rear dpu engines are to always have their rear headlight on set for dim). Passenger trains are to have lit rear markers at all times. If the EOT is flashing in good daylight, either the electronics has a failure, or, it's time to clean the photo-resistor's lens
Face off north of Plymouth MP75.
North bound (grain?) led by 5322 stopped on main with switch aligned for siding. SB in siding, can’t make out #’s. Not sure what’s up.

Nice G125 video steamlogger! That ROUTE ROCK covered hopper a few back from the engines is entering at least its 45th year in that paint scheme! I wonder what the deal is with those covered dumpsters along the old drive there a Plaster Creek?
