From the useless information files, CSX 3333 was the leader on the final RBBB circus train leaving Charleston, West Virginia in 2017.Tom49801 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2024 12:35 pmL303-28 @ 12:33 eastward reported by the Defect Detector mp CH126.3 Clarksville, Mi with 60 axles. Re: CSX Train Location Updates - January 2024
G125-26 @ 15:56 was contacted by the Dispatcher to get their bulletins activated & they are having issues with 1 of their engines & was asked if they could make it with 1 working engine (doubtful since their tonnage is 12,605). Couldn't hear the crew's side of the radio conversation - they were to call the Mechanical Dept.

Re: CSX Train Location Updates - January 2024
Was that on Feb 14th, 2017? I was working with Amtrak then at we were at our Automatic (Intermediate) signal 1308 (about 7 miles north of Union Station, Wash. DC) where CSX passes over our tracks & we saw the Barnum & Bailey Circus Train on its final run. We had no idea that was going to be there - just happened to look up to watch a CSX train passing over our NEC Main Line tracks & waved to a couple of people standing at an open window on a car door. Our signals are attached to the CSX bridge & we would have to walk up a hill to the CSX track to get to our signals whenever a burnt out light bulb needed to be changed.OldBastard wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2024 1:34 pmFrom the useless information files, CSX 3333 was the leader on the final RBBB circus train leaving Charleston, West Virginia in 2017.Tom49801 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2024 12:35 pmL303-28 @ 12:33 eastward reported by the Defect Detector mp CH126.3 Clarksville, Mi with 60 axles. I wonder if you saw the other unit from what I had. I can't remember without digging up old photos if we had the Red or Blue unit from Charleston. But at any rate, it was early May, and they were headed for one final show after hand off to NS in Bluefield, WV.
