L301-18 @ 10:38 Grand Rapids, Mi mark up with the RN Dispatcher: CSX engines #4057 + #8801 & 12 cars (2 loads + 10 empties) @ 598 tons & 698 feet long. He’ll head westward for work at Buzzi Cement mp CG5.2 & then he’ll go into Waverly mp CG22.8 & later westward to Hartford mp CG68.7 & will runaround his train at Kirk mp CG70.2 to head back east.

L303-18 @ 11:22 Grand Rapids mark up with the RN Dispatcher: CSX engines #388 + #5270 & 93 cars (10 loads + 83 empties) @ 3,736 tons & 4,755 feet long. He’s building his train & has work for Lansing - final destination is Detroit.

That was R598-18 and at 14:25 eastward was reported by the Defect Detector mp CG44.2 Pearl, Mi with 12 axles with CSX engines #858 + #7381 lite power. The crew had picked up these engines from Grand Jct siding mp CG54 & headed to the power plant in West Olive, Mi. to build an empty coal train due to no BNSF engines being available at the plant.

R598-18 @ 19:45 at the power plant in West Olive, Mi contacted the Dispatcher for an EC1 change to show CSX engine #7381 is leading with CSX #858 trailing headed for Grand Jct mp CG54. Apparently, this is a lite power move to return these engines to Grand Jct siding.

Thanks for pointing out 6542 on L302-18, I had to intercept them at Howell as I initially decided to skip the railfanning today (and was not trackside in Brighton when they passed).
L303-18 had 388, 5270, and 8054 which had been picked up from Ensel. No car counts from me today as my camera ran out of space after only 17 seconds of recording.
8054 was paired with 8315 for the Lansing yard jobs. How long has 8315 been up here, didn't it arrive shortly after 8054, could 6542 replace 8315 or will it replace another 4-axle unit out west?

Update: 8054 had come up on L302-21 of March 21st, and 8315 had come up on L302-29 of April 29th. 8315 could also be seen up until December 8th of 2023 where, to my knowledge, it was last reported on an L304.
I am sure I asked what train the 8315 had departed on, but of course I have forgotten. IIRC it went down to Chicago only to reappear headed west from Detroit.

This set of empties will be tied down at Grand Jct to await the next inbound load power or a procured set of CSX motors that are not the pushers.

The storage cars on the Mich Shore are also coming back down Wednesday, so look for an R job to handle that transaction as well tomorrow.
