1. Amtrak 365 makes its station stop in Durand on time
2. From around 0700 to just around 1000 There was a manifest working with the yard with CN 2290 and a M-2 trailing. Unsure what the symbol is. The train also stopped in flint and left at around 1020
3. CN L501 arrives at the flint terminal with a short train at around 1030 . Power was a M-2 and dash 9.
4. CN train M396 blasted through Bancroft at 1050 with CN 8884 or CN 8864.
5. CN train A492 just cleared CP Mill in Lansing at around 1145 with a gevo leading
6. CN train R934 backs up to Snow yard with an SD60 and with a cut of empty centerbeam cars at around 1120
No 116 yet, no 399 yet either. Also there's an westbound currently near MP 276 in Flint and he's lined from MP 276 to MP 248

CN 3309, the wafer logo HU that usually leads the OCS train is leading E276 solo tonight. Griffith, IN at 21:00 eastern.

Also, due to a couple of washouts on the CN Rainy Sub, we are expecting some rerouted intermodal trains coming our way. Tomorrow should bring some new-to-us train symbols.

It definitely will not make it to Port Huron tonight. They tend to take a few days. Probably Tuesday evening or Wednesday in the morning depending on how long crew changes take. That’s just my guess from the past few VIA sets we’ve seen

Hi LRF and all,

How bad was that washout on the Rainy Sub? I'm hearing a lot of water problems in MN on the news, but can't find any news articles on the CN Rainy Sub washout from June 2024. There are plenty of articles on previous washouts, but not from the one that apparently just happened.

Wondering if we will be having continued reroutes depending on the damage?

Thanks.

I know my buddies who live in the Upper peninsula in Marquette so basically the same path as the Rainy Sub between Superior WI and International Falls got 2 inches of rain on Saturday. I am assuming the Rainy sub got that same rain on Thursday or Friday. Currently in Minnesota was or is in a state of emergency and they are getting federal aid from the government. Strange how last year it was so dry in June and this year has been rather wet.
