K357 was in and out of GR quickly. Should be near Grand Junction by now. This must be record time for 335, Dry Creek at 06:27 and by Seymour in GR now at 12:30.
The lead unit on 326, 7357, is the ex-CR unit rebuilt after wreck damage that now has its numberboards located above the cab windows. Inbound to GR, 326 had 52 GACX 84000 series 2-bay covered hoppers at the rear of the train. Storage? More cars for Muskegon? I've been seeing some of these around for awhile now but not this many.

Re: Nugent Sand
Eh, better to get the sand out first, before we haul too much garbage into the state. When the sand is gone, they can fill the pits in with garbage...Doktor No wrote:The cars on the rear of Q326 are for Nugent. They're hauling away Michigan a hopper car at a time.

Sure enough, just went back to look at my note pad in the "train widow" and my scribbly writing does say 9037. Thanks MUCH! Would have logged in the wrong number if you hadn't have caught that,,,, and I hate that when that happens!!!cnw8835 wrote:Bob, just as a note, second unit was 9037.Bob M. wrote:K357-10 CSX 8086,9027

Got out of work a bit "early" at 4pm.. heard X500 coming into Holland.. was going to get them near 104th, but heard them talking as they passed another train at the depot in Holland.. sure enough, D007 with cars to load ties into was in the siding at Holland. Conductor got back onboard, and off west they went. Got photos at the depot, 64th St, and 55th St down near the Kzoo River.Tlout wrote:X500 is going through Holland - 4:00PM.
Took 133rd, to 53rd, to 130th east for the route home..awesome scenery down that seasonal road.

Once again, which has happend frequently of late, a coal train has stalled coming out of Plymouth up to South Lyon, more than two hours ago. Q326-10, originally put into the pass at Brighton to meet them was moved over to South Lyon, while X500-10 took its place at Brighton. RN told Q326 if they couldn't get Y205 to push them up the hill, Q326 would have to come down and pull them up. At 2330 they instructed X500 to move east from Brighton, to where, who knows.

Forgive my ignorance, but railroads know where these stalling points are. Why don't they add a unit or give them a helper?a coal train has stalled coming out of Plymouth up to South Lyon
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...
because the rr saids that they can make. they do not take an account of the shoefly and the power that give up the ghost just as you start to use them hard. the coal train sat in plymouth from 8:00 to about 4:30 in the moring. it took four crews, two broken knuckle and too many cab to count to get it up the hill.

Thanks Rob. I thought they'd run trains like this up the hill before and knew from experience it wouldn't work because of what Bob M said:because the rr saids that they can make. they do not take an account of the shoefly and the power that give up the ghost just as you start to use them hard. the coal train sat in plymouth from 8:00 to about 4:30 in the moring. it took four crews, two broken knuckle and too many cab to count to get it up the hill.
I didn't realize it was the first coal train running on the Plymouth Sub.Once again, which has happend frequently of late, a coal train has stalled coming out of Plymouth up to South Lyon...
