CSX GRE MQT Train Location Update 3-31-09

Looks quiet at the GRE today. The usual Amtrak. One lonely car yesterday at the MAC in Newaygo. Tamper and regulator on the siding in Bailey.

You missed three east bounders in the one hour after Amtrak. I heard them while I laid in bed. Figures.

Should be a G850-29 and G879-28 grain trains out there for, or from someplace. Not sure if these are loads or empties, perhaps one of each.

X500-30, CP9514 by Howell at 1335. Either the same quiet voice as Zach heard earlier, or just a bad radio.

Dropped my truck off to have some stuff done to it and saw convoy of CSX track inspectors in the nice ext cab hy rail trucks, they were leaving south lyon and it looks like they marked a bunch of ties so with in 30 days they should be doing something on the main in south lyon.

just before K357, X500 with CP 9514 cleared the diamond @ 14:30 10 deep wells for Oak and 41 manifest cars
and when I was in Romulus caught Q15031@ 10:25 with CSX 7306 and 7717 and 60 loaded deep well cars
also met T.J. from Sterling Hgts

Speaking of empty well cars... My buddy from the CP Elkhart pool says that one of the last 138's (i forget what the NS symbol is for that train) he saw was nothing but empties. Currently CP is only running like 2.5 trains a day each direction through Elkhart. Hopefully this traffic slump won't last long...

BNSF 9392, 6018 south at Riley St. with western empties 7:30 PM.

Drove past Rougemere this afternoon around 4PM:

X500 was sitting at the east end of the yard, looked like they were getting a recrew.

Some train with CSXT 7331 and another CSX unit and just three cars was heading east past X500.

Watch trains departing Rougemere WEST, CSXT 7496 in Big Can Opener Blue CONRAIL paint was on the Eagle overpass with another CSX unit. If they don't wye the power, the CR unit will be leading westbound.

Q321-01 cleared 7 Mile Rd. at 21:30. 2 CSX units leading, first one was 811, missed the 2nd. 55 cars.
Q326-31 cleared Plymouth diamond at 21:50. CSX 7885 + 8136 + 73 cars.

Yellow over red looking south at Middle River, perhaps E951 is on the way.
