Did the GP9R get down to Gearhart? Apologize if I missed the post. I knew it was up in GR but thought it might still be there since the NS trains hadn't started yet.

WSOR 4076 will be WAMX 4189 whenever it goes up to GR for inspection. WAMX 4017 came back to Gearhart last night after spending a week in GR, where it was unfortunately not turned into razor blades.

Also, NS haulage date has once again been pushed back from April 1st to sometime later this month... Yeah right.

Reference the post on 38 & 39E coming off April 16 would that be the start date of the road train to Kalamazoo?

If the April 16th thing is true, is NS still planning on staging power in Gearhart Yard? Or in Jackson?


If this does go through (which it looks like it is, because Kalamazoo is listed as an interchange point with the GDLK on NS's website as of late March) it might put Kalamazoo back on the map as a railfanning locatoon, definitely NOT at the same levels before NS left in '09 but it might draw in a bigger crowd.

("Might" is bolded to emphasize that I am making a guess, not stating fact. Just a clarification!)

FWIW, a North & Central Indiana Railroads Facebook post from March 20 said plans are to have two crews based at Gearhart to make a Jackson turn.

April 19th is the new date on the haulage. NS basing one crew in the Zoo. Plans keep changing, we'll see what happens.

Frac sand was and is down due to excess oil. Shutin wells down in North Dakota for a month now. No new wells needed right now. Probably storing sand cars in GR but don't know for a fact or frac.

Sand is down, several online customers are shipping/getting less. And yet, we have over 50 cars online for one customer that is supposed to unload 8 cars a day... They're not exactly doing so hot.

The 7030 is supposed to move from GR to Kalamazoo today. They are going to try to put it in lead.

303 looks to be ready to depart GR with WAMX 7030/4002/3829 and WSOR 4076 for power.

So how many people were out chasing our rare power set today? I doubt you'll ever see the 7030 leading over the road again.
