I just came here to see why 364 wasn't on the Amtrak tracker. Now I know! Curious to read more news on this, hope the car occupant hit is doing OK, and that the 365 passengers were able to make it to their destinations.

It is AMAZING that the person survived that, that is a real crunchy.

352 tonight had the American View observation car, nice crew tonight with a horn salute after passing Opdyke.

Amtrak 351 this morning has 4630 and 4628 on the tail end.

It is actually an Amtrak ballast train with NS power. Clear of the Trail Creek Bridge at 17:49 CT

Had him by Buchanan around 19:45. He went at least as far as Niles.

I’m in Kzoo waiting for 354, does he have the regular SC-44 set?

And was curious about the ballast train cuz I am in Kzoo

P354-24 @ 9:06 cleared W. Michigan Ave, Kalamazoo, MI - IDTX #4604 & 5 passenger cars (Amfleet Café/Business Class + Horizon Coach + 3 Ventures)

352 out of the station around 5:38, caught it ripping by me at 110 in Kzoo.

Amtrak is showing a service disruption due to downed trees for 352 and 355 (which is still sitting in Dearborn as of 9:36 PM…yikes), also heard something that 355 may have hit a big one? Not sure if someone could confirm?

Edit: As of 9:50 PM, things are finally moving.

353 is sitting north of the Pontiac station as of 8:02…has only 4 cars today. Maybe the minimum axle count was lifted? I don’t know.

*Out of Pontiac at 8:45 with 5 cars, miscounted the cars originally.

Phase IV 164 leading 29 west this morning visible on the Elkhart VR cam arrived a couple minutes early.

Local news reporting 09:52 train 351 hit and killed trespasser just west of Kalamazoo, Howard Street (Knollwood area). Train 350 held west near Dowagiac. Train 365 east of Kalamazoo and 353 held in Battle Creek. No movements at 12:08 Eastern.

This would explain the 3 hour and 5 minute Amtrak that just came by the Dexter Library. I was wondering what happened to cause them to be running so late.

I never noticed whether 350 went by my house on time or not today, sometimes it slips past me at MP 22.5, the Chargers are so quiet. But I guess it was late as 355, using the same train set, just went by about an hour and a half late out of Pontiac. So the above posts explain why.
