Are you just mentioning this or is there an M327 crew waiting in Grand Rapids?

Tom is saying that M327 can not make their trip without getting the engines from M326 from Chicago. There isn’t enough power to send out

There is definitely an issue with M326 n M327 due to power issues. It used to be 2 sets of engines doing these rounds. M326 arrives and M327 departs

No doubt there is a power issue, but I wonder if the original M327 crew still shows up early in the morning or if they get called in once the engines for their train are close

That's what I was wondering, would be awfully inefficient to do it that way. I don't think M326-08 has left Chicago yet.

Yesterday's M326-07 yesterday was reported by the DD at mp CG19.1 at 4:13pm (easiest time reference for me to find in the archives for him) & M327-07's crew was on duty at 7:00pm. Between 7:21pm & 7:51pm he was starting to build his train and was reported by the DD at mp CG19.1 @ 9:29pm.

They must have a general idea as to when the crew is to be called for duty, since, CSX has a "3 Hour Rule" that states the crew is to have their train on the move within 3 hours of their on duty time. There have been exceptions made but not for any extreme lateness for departing.

They won’t call a crew until they think the equipment will be ready for them when they go on duty.

Road trains are on-call, the crew shows up when called. Locals and yard jobs (L and Y) trains are scheduled with the same start time daily and a regular crew works those assignments without being called into work.
