CSX Train Location Updates: April, 2020

08:40 D702 unit CSXT 6158 just set off one lumber load at Zeeland Lumber and is now heading East with two cement loads for Buzzi in Grandville. I was wondering if Buzzi and Standard in Grandville were going to be served via Holland now or if they would be reassigned to a yard job from Wyoming. I caught 6158 at the N Elm St crossing in Zeeland, site of the old Zeeland depot. A cell phone tower is supposed to be built on the site sometime this year and I wanted to get a photo beside the remains of the old concrete platform before they come and obliterate anything that remains.

Q327-13 @ 7:43am/8:13am reported by DD mp CG19.1 with CSX engines #5430 + #428(?) & 116 cars. He went into Holland to pick up/drop off cars.

Attention Plymouth. Grain load from Webberville by Howell at 01:48 with 4560-213 on the head end. Going as far as Beck Road at least with the crew that is on it. Counted 88 cars which doesn't mean much. Had 90 when it went west on Easter Sunday. Should be G-66514, but again, maybe not.

D702 in Grandville is waiting while a flock of signal maintainers and (track inspector?) are flocked around the switch at mp 6. Not sure what the problem is. Sperry Rail truck was in the post office parking lot.

At about 0800 heard a train blowing for the 32nd/36 street area crossings west of the airport in Grand Rapids. ATCS showed a line up for an eastbound all the way to the blocks east of Lake O.

Q327-16 @ 08:46am reported by the DD mp CG19.1 with 522 axles & 7,468 feet long. CSX engines #78 + #5370 + 1 & 126 cars & is to pick up 24 cars in Holland. The 3rd engine might be the CN #8912 that was returned from Peaker's by Q329 on April 8th.
Turned out to be CN #5696.

327 had to leave 5 sand loads at waverly, could only take 5 sands due to all the empties ahead of the loads,
so the pickup was 19 instead of 24 today
