How does 4384 look? I remember seeing it when the paint was pretty much brand new to the engine and I really liked it.

Looks like they met Q326 at Michigan City. Q327 was delayed in showing up on the NS Chicago Line ATCS and I've got another train rolling by now.

Besides a little wintertime grime, excellent. The Clinchfield style wings on the nose give the engine a fast look.

Guessing they’re going to use Saugatuck siding to stage their train instead of running to GR and back?

That's how they usually do that, they don't run 1/2 their train to Grand Rapids. But, I wonder if that would be easier to do - run 1/2 their train to Waverly & then go back & get the rest from Saugatuck?

Q326-12 @ 17:17 is getting the other half of their train out of Saugatuck siding & have 50 hand brakes to remove from what was heard on the radio. The west end of Saugatuck is mp CG33.3 & the east end is mp CG32.1 & I was once told the upward hill is midway between. If they stall out on the main track, from what I can guess (based on the time table printout I have): they cut their train & take 1/2 over the hill & back it into into the east end of the siding & then go back westward to pick up the other 1/2 & get it over the hill & then back those into the siding to couple them to the first half of his cars left in there.

SD80MAC would know their procedure. I don't know of any other way they would do this, but, I had found there are some things that are out there & aren't shown on the time table I have.

700 must be on the south end of the railroad if they weren’t in the neighborhood to help.

I was near Holland when Q327 stalled. And heard the conversation on the radio. It sounded like they were past the signal at the west end of East Saugatuck but not yet on the turnout. The engineer asked the dispatcher if they could hand throw the turnout. Which would indicate they were going to put the front half in the siding.
The siding there is past the steep part of the hill.
