D700 had left Holland for Grand Rapids shortly before Q326 stalled. D700 was going to pick up the empty lumber car in Grandville.

I was near Holland when Q326 stalled. And heard the conversation on the radio. It sounded like they were past the signal at the west end of East Saugatuck but not yet on the turnout. The engineer asked the dispatcher if they could hand throw the turnout. Which would indicate they were going to put the front half in the siding.
The siding there is past the steep part of the hill.

Q326 is departing Saugatuck @ 18:42 and it appears he is to tie down at the next crossing & let the Dispatcher know which crossing & then a different crew will bring the train into Grand Rapids at some point.

Q326-12 @ 14:18 eastward reported by the DD mp CG44.2 with 384 axles & 5,891 feet long. CSX engines #3419 + #7805 & 93 cars.

At 14:42 Q326 reports being stalled on the Saugatuck Hill approx mp CG32.5 & will have to cut his train & take 1/2 at a time over the hill. Dispatcher told them no one is around to help them out.

Guessing they’re going to use Saugatuck siding to stage their train instead of running to GR and back?

That's how they usually do that, they don't run 1/2 their train to Grand Rapids. But, I wonder if that would be easier to do - run 1/2 their train to Waverly & then go back & get the rest from Saugatuck?

They double to the siding at Saugatuck. There is not logistical reason to advance the first half to Waverly.

The summit of the hill is basically right at 136th Ave, with the steep portion terminating at the east end of the curve just west of the crossing. It then drops on a slight downslope continuing east, which helps trains pick up speed again, but is not enough to require a bajillion handbrakes to hold the front half.

A PTC error had brought him to a stop short of the DD & he was traveling too slow over the HBD system for it to operate properly. CSX engines #3419 + #7805 & 93 cars.

Q327-13 @ 07:29 will have to spin his engines due to issues with the CSX #7805 (Power Circuit Grounded - the #7805 won't load & won't be able to control the CSX #3419). He'll run his train to Waverly mp CG23.0 & will spin them there to make the CSX #3419 the leader.
