That's assuming they installed a new air-sucker/squeezer on the air reservoir. If they didn't do that, they might have re-calibrated the screamer controls to make it more whistley than it was before. Of course, this would all be a moot point if they didn't completely disassemble and refurbish the melodiosynchronizer.

They are saving their energy to do all of that on 2019. I cringe when I hear that horn. :?

I don't know if they did anything to the horn, because I have footage of when that horn was blown for the first time in 2 years at M-21. When they did that two of the chimes sorta had to "wake up". The horn was a "K3LA" briefly until the other chimes finally tuned in. Then the 3885 was also blowing its horn along with 24. It was pretty epic. I'll post the footage sometime I shot it on my iPhone and I say I did a pretty good job for freehanding it.

The 24 went down in 2015, not 2014.

Michigan shore was out of town by 8:30 am and back to the north yard by 1:30pm. Decent sized train south. Did not see them come back in. 2057s horn sounded good across a frozen Muskegon Lake.

4124, 4125, and 4190 on the Grand Elk are lined up with maybe 50 cars on the yard lead, looks to be preparing to depart. No one visible in the cab. 4124 leading.
