  WOW—A CN GP7 ON TRAIN 533!!!!  OK, that probably isn't the engine on this train, correct? What was the loco?

» Fri Aug 05, 2016 11:13 pm
I believe the CN 4803 on 533 had the zebra paint scheme still.

OK, I found that it is "Actually" CN GP38-2W #4803 (not that old GP7)!!!!

384, CN 2607, is being rerouted up the Holly tonight. 533 is in the process of turning their train around to also go up the Holly. Didn't catch why this is happening.

Thanks for the info on the reroutes as I was wondering what was going on behind my house last night. Train 391 went by my house in Bloomfield around 7:30 with a short train, right after Amtrak 355 passed by out of Pontiac. Around 8:30 right after the Summer Sunday Amtrak 352 went by another westbound freight went by with a long train and a different mix of cars than usual (and a lot of autoracks on the rear). This must have been 384. Then while lying in bed another westbound went by at 11:00 that I didn't get up to see. That must have been 533. Busy night on the now usually quiet Holly Sub.

Mt. Clemens is a great place to catch CN. They slow down and you can get legally get relatively close to the tracks and catch a slow rollby. 8) It was even better back when the local spent up to several hours daily switching all the local customers. Now the only customer left is the landscaping stone place that gets switched a couple times a week during the warm months.

I still refer to this "Railroad" as
"GTW!" It is just a "Paper" railroad—but I hope GTW engines will stay around!!!! OK, here's a "Classic" (35mm Canon AV-1 S.L.R.) picture I took (age 7) of the local with caboose #79133 in 1991: :D Image

I "Volunteer" at the station most weekends!!!! Yesterday (8-7) I caught two southbound trains there!!!! Both were going fast (49 M.P.H.)! Now, these "Through" freights pass "Quickly" lately!!!! Train 533 had CN SD70M-2 #8827 and 25 loaded "Well Car" sets and came at 2:07 p.m. After we put the "Station to Bed"—train 385 "ZOOMED" by!!!! "MtClemensRailFan," I was there at Cass Avenue for this one! Where were you located, may I ask? :?:

When I'm visiting in the area, I will go to Cass Ave. Otherwise, I'll go to New Haven once in a while, though not often. I saw someone taking a picture of 385, so that must've been you! Also, 384 came through last night at 11 p.m. CN 2169 and CN 8866 with 128 cars.
