CSX Train Location Updates: March 2021

D705 per the axle count of 382 at Fowlerville had 91 cars when it went by Howell at 04:01 this morning. This equated to three six axle units. DPU was on the rear and there was a 2nd unit behind the DPU. Could not tell if if it was four axle or ix axle. Would not have thought anything different than a six axle except for the fact i did not see the head end of the train. There could have been another six axle unit behind the leader, which would make the last unit in the train a four axle.

D705-10 @ 10:08am was heard giving directions to their cab driver & they're tying down their train somewhere east of the west end of Lake Odessa mp CH121.7 or just east of the east end of Lake Odessa mp CH120.4 If I recall correctly, the last time they had done this it was somewhere near mp CH118. (Engineer is telling their cab driver to take the Ionia(?) Rd exit off of the I-96 expressway, East Hwy was also mentioned). Ok, just heard @ 10:26am his head end is near the mp CH118 signal.

D905-11 (D705 re-crewed) @ 2:46pm copied their EC1 at mp CH118.3 to proceed west with CSXT engines #738 + #3211 & 139 cars (53 loaded / 86 empty). Sounded like the engineer had said the #3211 is 56 deep (mid dpu?). I'll have to re-listen to this radio call when it becomes available in the scanner archives.
Update: "3211 dp 59 deep" was heard.

D700-11 @ 9:38pm westward cleared the Holland Depot mp CG25.25 with CSXT engines #6244 + #2742 & 13 cars. He has work for Hartford mp CG68.7, Coloma mp CG75.8 & Sawyer mp CG105.6 He'll go into Wells Siding mp CG41.4 to clear up for Amtrak.
