Amtrak train 48 had an observation car on the rear early on 7/3/11. I took a video of it in Elkhart, IN and made screen shots. Unfortunately, you can not read lit sign which commemorates Amtrak's 40 years, 1971-2011.
I should have walked down the platform when it was stopped and tried to take a picture of it stopped.

134/90225 on P371 this morning.

Northbound NE Regional train 172 had AEM7 #145 leading today.
Southbound NE Regional train 173 had AEM7 #116 leading today.

Both trains had the standard 7 Amfleet car consist, and passed just east of the Guilford, CT ShoreLine East Station.

You mean AEM7s 916 and 945, right? 116 and 145 are P42s, with 145 being the Phase III heritage unit of course.

It looks like the brick platform at Elkhart is still holding up. I did some repairs to it back in 2007. Hope no more problems have developed!

364 has a couple of notable units tonight.
Leading is P40 817. This wouldn't seem very significant, but there are two very interesting points with it:
1. It led President Clinton's POTUS Campaign train in 1996, which included a visit to Michigan.
2. It features a (very well tuned) K5L horn, instead of the usual K5LA. This is the base K5 and is tuned to play the Canadian D# Minor chord. It is more commonly found on older CSX Dash-8s and BC Rail units.
The trailing unit, and tomorrow's leader for 365, will likely be of more interest to many of you: The ever-sought after B32 517.

NO ONE CARES, but Amcab 9636 was leading NEC Shuttle No. 493 south today from Springfield to New Haven.

3:57pm, 350, by Moterm, with 30 & 31, both on head end. Observation on tail end.
