CSX Train Location Updates - June 2024

I also recorded L303-21 earlier as well. I observed several new red 65-70ft ish COER boxcars without any graffiti, and 10-20 empty CBTX tankers. As mentioned, the CSX and ZVBX gondolas were seen on L303. I saw the following gondolas: HPTX 7295, DJTX 320509, CSX 483147, CSX 483420, CEFX 32669, ZVBX 625752. I am unable to read this gondola in the photo below.

L302-21 @ 22:40 westward reported by the Defect Detector mp CH104.3 in Mulliken, Mi with 298 axles. CSX #434 + CSX #5257 + CSX #4082 and 70 cars. Ít seems that L302-21 may have picked one of 2 L304/305 engines at Lansing. Axle count indicates 3 6 axle engines.

E801-18 @ 08:50 Wells Siding mp CG43.3 job briefing with the RN Dispatcher: BNSF engine #6326 (solo) & 129 empty coal cars. BNSF earlier this morning had approved accepting this train with just a single engine but has to be confirmed again. If BNSF denies this train, he'll take New Buffalo siding mp CG113.9 & tie down.

E801-18 @ 09:24 westward N. Center St crossing Bangor, Mi mp CG60.35 with BNSF engine #6326 (solo) & 129 empty coal cars.

Earlier this morning R598-21 @ 02:18 westward was reported by the Defect Detector mp CG44.2 Pearl, Mi with 544 axles. BNSF engines #6326 + #9064 & 130 empty coal cars & rear CSX engines #3133 + #3459. He had taken Grand Jct siding mp CG54 & cut away the CSX power and left BNSF engine #9064 on the head end. He then went back east to Wells siding mp CG43.3 with the BNSF engine #6326 lite power to place it on the head end of the 129 empty coal cars that were tied down there & armed the EOT unit for E801-18.

I'm at the oval at Wyoming Yard and L303-22 has just returned from the Y at Sunnyside interlocking. 434 will be on the point and the conductor told me 73 cars with 4082 in tow. Departed Wyoming Yard @ 12:45.

C800-22 @ 17:05 eastward reported by the Defect Detector mp CG66.2 Hartford, Mi with 528 axles. BNSF #8437 + 129 loaded coal cars + rear BNSF #6425 DPU. He will add CSX #3459 + CSX #3133 behind his leader at east end Grand Junction mp 54 and continue to West Olive if time permits.

C800-22 @ 17:13:15 eastward Division St crossing mp 60.93 Bangor, Mi with BNSF #8437 + 129 loaded coal cars + rear BNSF #6425 DPU

There is a empty coal train sitting at west end Grand Junction mp 55.6 with BNSF #9064 leading and 130 coal empties, unknown when a crew is on duty.

C801-22 @ 18:10 advised Dispatcher the CSX DPU engines have brake shoe issues. At 18:13, he modified his EC1 to depart Grand Junction with BNSF #8437 + 129 loaded coal cars + rear BNSF #6425 DPU. He’s heading to Wells Siding mp CG41.4 to tie down. They are leaving CSX #3133 (W) and CSX #3459 (E) at EE Grand Junction mp 54.

Regarding the gondolas yesterday, I too had noticed some non-ZVBX reporting marks mixed in with the new ones. I had wondered why the blocks seemed to be separated by random reporting marks.
