CSX Train Location Updates - June 2024

R598-23 @ 12:04 copied their EC1 to depart the power plant in West Olive, Mi mp CGP 1.0 & diverge onto the Fremont sub-div & head south to the Grand Rapids sub-div in Holland, Mi with BNSF engine #8437 & 130 empty coal cars & rear dpu BNSF engine #6425 & CSX engines #7200 + #3355. He’ll be taking either Wells Siding mp CG41.4 & sounded like he'll be taking his leader to add to the empty coal train that's tied down in Grand Jct mp CG55.6 that has BNSF engine #9064 that is solo on 130 empty coal cars. He was advised by the Dispatcher there are Carmen working on the brakes on CSX engines 3459 + #3133 on the east end of Grand Jct siding mp CG54.

A W084 is planned to run today between Plymouth and Grand Rapids, dumping ballast. Train is currently parked at Joy Rd in Plymouth.

Do you know if the power was CSX 309 and CSX 159 ơn head end?

The lead was 716, couldn’t make out the second. Went out at 4:30 as it came through Kentwood. Also hopefully I did this post right, first one!

U302-22 @ 03:54 westward reported by the Defect Detector mp CH126.3 Clarksville, Mi with 312 axles. CSX engines #716 + #3139 & 75 cars. He may not have worked in Lansing – since the car count is the same as earlier reported.

The lead was 716, couldn’t make out the second. Went out at 4:30 as it came through Kentwood. Also hopefully I did this post right, first one!

Yup, it actually crossed at about 4:32. I have a full video as well, they had 3 Autoracks, 47 hoppers, 18 tank cars, 4 gons, and 3 others (not in that order).

Unknown if the last 2 engines are on. The prior L303 had 4 engines as well, with the last 2 engines being isolated (not turned on)

13:58 - W084 talking with the RN, they will meet L303 at Ensel and tie down in the siding at Lake Odessa. Did not sound like they would proceed further.
14:08 - W084 thru Webberville Rd. CH 68.43. When passing Fowlerville, they were told to proceed at track speed to CH 70.0 or so. 309 and 158 for power.

W084-19 (Ballast Work Train) @ 16:15 westward reported by the DD mp CH104.3 Mulliken, Mi with CSX YN2 Duo #309 + #158 (elephant style) and 77 ballast cars. He’s heading to Lake Odessa(?) siding mp 120.4 to tie down(?)

M326-23 @ 16:15 finishing up yarding their lite power engines CSX #3174 and CSX #7252 for M327 to use.

Unknown if R598-23 will bring back the CSX #3355 (West Facing) and CSX #7200 (West Facing) back to GR for M327 to use as well. Hopefully the CSX #3133 (West Facing) and CSX #3459 (East Facing) are fixed from their brake shoe issues yesterday
