That was a rare catch. The only sporadic active shipper on the Ottawa Beach branch is De Leeuw lumber which is located about a 10th of a mile into the branch itself

Yes, that has happened before, not too often, but I can recall not long ago they had opted to back in.

Yes, that has happened before, not too often, but I can recall not long ago they had opted to back in.

Just to clarify, L301 is just going to shove their train westbound after they pass the east end of Waverly yard. It's not that they are shoving their train from Bangor all the way to Holland. Just backing in the east end instead of running through the yard to do their work.
When they went by the Bangor cam, loco was on the headend with the 9 cars behind it.

16:30 - L302 will wait at EE South Lyon for L305 to get themselves together. L302 will follow L305 west. L305 still has work to do at Annpere, so we’ll see how that goes. For L305: Green Oak DD at CH39.1 said 300 axles, 4554 feet.

L305-24 had 71 cars in its train for GLC today that they took east with them to South Lyon. At the same time L305 arrived back at Ann Pere into the siding, GLC was backing 67 cars for CSX onto the main line. Perfect timing, for L305 cut off the cars for GLC, backed onto the cars GLC just set off and departed Howell for Lansing at 5:55pm. L302 with its 24 car train now following L305 west as L303 pulled into the Fowlerville siding with their 92 cars.
