CSX GRE MQT Train Location Update 10-14-08

A MOW truck and a car at the GRE. There's a few cars for King, that's it. There was 1 load and 1 empty yesterday afternoon inside the fence at Standard. The usual Amtrak.

Q335-14 with CSX 7687, 8506, HLCX 7187 out of Fowlerville at 1230 running on red blocks. D709-13 never left the yard yesterday and was recrewed as D909-13 at 1800. Maybe they never had a crew to start with. Regardless, everybody but International Paper got switched again as they had to bypass it and "run for the barn" A last minute change of plans because of this and they put K903 & Q334 in the hole for THEM at Fowlerville and Williamston.

1:22pm - CSX symbol Q335 westbound at CH 79.9 (Okemos DD), running 4657 feet/338 axles behind lead CSX 7687. They reported an activation failure at Nicholson Road in Fowlerville.

X500 nearing Elmdale by now. CEFX 115 & CITX 3079 for power.

The eastern empty coal, met 335 at Trow Bridge, then proceeded to a stop at the EE Williamston, did 10mph between EE Williamston and WE Fowlderville. D709 was 10 cars behind, skipped ADM who was doing track work, and rolled to Thermofil where they are now, GP40 and a 38-2. Q236 was on the heels of 709 and then on the heels of the empty coal to Salem where they are now. Q327 met both trains at Brighton, and has a single SD50 leading, prolly into the Fowlerville mess right now.

Y320 returned to Wyoming Yard this morning with CSX 1556 for power, 3 boxes from Advanced Packaging, 1 gondola for an idler car and 7 LPG tanks from Alto Gas.
E445-14 met them in the interlocking at Sunnyside, CSX 355 & HLCX 7195 with 104 empty coal hoppers. Donnie covered D700.
Q326 out of GR shortly behind 445. CSX 8524 & 8511, 16 cars. Looked like 7 or 8 cars of lumber for Lowes in Grand Ledge. MQT 1057 & 1089 probably heading for IP in Howell.
36E came into town with NS 3537 & 3530 for power. 30-35 cars, lots of 86' high-cubes in the train. A couple more NS hoppers probably for scrap glass loading at Hughart. A couple loaded bulkhead flats also, most likely for Blue Linx on the Hughart Runner or for Van's on MQT.

I stayed-out at the station until about 7pm and the signal at Hines Drive was not even green. Oh well, CP X500 about a year ago had a CEFX SD9043Mac and I caught that, so I'm not all that dissapointed.

X500-13 did not pass Howell untill 724pm running thru the AnnPere pass around D709, so you would have had a long wait yet Chris. D709, once again, did not have time to switch IP, which now means three working days in a row missed, and five total counting the weekend with the spur packed full of cars. (15 with six MQT's on the end) They took the same IP load back to Ensel with them that D909-13 took back with them earlier this morning. :evil:

I can't believe IP puts up with such crappy service. If we did that on the MQT, heads would roll. Somebody would be looking for a new job. Keep up the good work CSX. You won't be around much longer either.

About 20 min after you left there was a three train meet on the diamond Y107 was first stopped other side of Farmer, then D717 came down the Toledo Wye stopped halfway to Farmer and the N904 came around the Southwest Wye. When I left the coal train was headed south and then heard Q326 getting clearance at MP25.
