Looks quiet again at the GRE. Only 2 inbounds for NS and a few outbounds for both. 61 is on the west end of 370/371 in the yard. It was hard to see but it looks like only 1 engine and they will be backing to the station this morning.

N95618 just cleared south clyde at 9:37, heads up you guys in flint and farther north

It took N956-18 11 HOURS AND 10 MINUTES, with two crews to double Ann Pere hill between Howell and Brighton last night. Busy Chilson Road was totally blocked for nine hours and five minutes before they got it cleared off. The 2nd crew, a Lansing crew I presume, as they were using the train name of D909-19, with the help of a PTI driver came to the aid of the N918 crew, (I assume) after they took the first cut to Brighton and died. However, the bright news to all this, was they tied up the main line for nearly 12 hours and never delayed a train, because there were'nt any trains to delay. :D Q335-19 by Howell at 1005

Q326-20 will run tomorrow
K356-13 was "actually" not annulled as a Garrett crew put the train together at Whiting last night and a GR crew is to get on this am and take it to GR
If Q327-19 takes what is in Rougemere today...he should be pretty big out of Detroit
Q132-19 planned to run this afternoon out of Salem
Q151-19 to run this afternooon out of Collinwood
**Note: Q150 is to run out of Walbridge every Monday due to low volume out of Detroit TV unless it really is needed
Q272-19 running from Queensgate instead of Osborn today and is already almost to Dayton with traffic for TDSI New Boston
N956-19 is planned but the train is still actually just in Iowa unless this becomes one of the numerous CXC West Olive trains instead
G883-15 wont be going to Grand Ledge as they have terminated the empties at Walbridge-looks like due to the derailment
E469-18 are at Flint and will be coming south with coal empties today
Q131-19 to run tonight
Q392-19 to run tonight
Q231-19 to run out of Detroit tonight but may change to originate at Walbridge
Q321-19 didnt run last night because no traffic
Q321-20 to run tonight
D717-19 already pulling into Rougemere

D80218 was heading north at Riley St. - I heard what sounded like an airline pop, then they came to a halt - 11:20 or so. Sounds like they'll need to walk the train - and one of the crews might run out of time. So. Riley St. is blocked. D802 - BNSF 5696, 6294 (headend). Don't know the numbers of the pushers...

Sounds like one of the pusher units might have run out of fuel; they think that heavy snow at one of the crossings may have lifted an airline...

Getting close to time for a lunch break - maybe we'll head up the street and get some pics.

Q334-19 annulled because not enough traffic to warrant a train...thats interesting..MQT didnt have anything for the CSX last night?
Q231-19 has been annulled...no traffic out of Detroit-New Boston or Walbridge

Hey JQ - caught 20G inbound & outbound at lunch today - they took off the two BNSF units and swapped for two NS units leaving the train in the Mega and running back & forth to the 14 track down by the depot. A pretty short 21Z slipped through between light power moves. Also caught a M1K with a NS GP40 leader - pictures & details to hopefully follow later...

Riley St. just got cleared. Pushers both sound like they are running - BNSF9236, 5846. Engine that ran out of fuel must be on the head end. Anyway, the train had been broken at Greenly St., apparently they're going to head on up to New Harlem...

MDH-

As a note...NS has put out a systemwide memo to reduce as many HPH to save that and money...so examples are now 20G swapping power in Elkhart or Toledo but only when feasable....another example was 82T yesterday which had his UP units cut off at Elkhart and three NS units added to the trip to Indian River...this train has always runthrough with the UP units...

416 is safe for BNSF power as it is in the contract....

Hmm... interesting - makes sense though...

I was at the Maumee Ave. overpass at the 288 signals and had "20G Outbound Crew" bringing the NS units off the 14 track and "20G Inbound Crew" bringing the BNSF units from the mega at the same time. They passed each other I think just on the West side of the Anthony Wayne trail - I have a picture that might (barely) show both in the same frame. The inbound crew had to wait at 288 for 21Z to slip by before crossing over 2 to 1 to enter the 14 track. I had heard 20G talking to the mega when I first got in my car - glad I made the effort to drive over there rather than sitting at Vickers... (I would have missed them all together at Vickers despite them getting going fairly quickly after tying on the new power - they hit 287 Eastbound right as I was pulling back in my parking lot after lunch).

Coal train finally made it to Port Sheldon - D801 relieved the D802 crew, and they got to Hiawatha Dr. around 2:15. The warning bell in BNSF 6294 was ringing away...

K35717 with CSX 7582, 53 had 60 loaded coke crossed the diamond @ 14:50
and right behind him was Q32719 CSX 407,8138 with 61 car. E46918 had CSX 77,369 with that empty coal drag heading twards Toledo.

Must have been a last minute change of plans to cancell the train. Q334-19 was called for 1015am, with 45 loads four empties. Perhaps no Q335 tomorrow and saved a crew two days in Wallyworld, or taxi back home. Of course there is still that G883 if they ever run it.

Isn't 49 cars on 334 awfully short? If that level of cars holds it may help to explain some of the cutbacks to three days a week. A true lack of traffic perhaps?

sunday night train is all way small . d700 and mqt does not run on saturday so the car cound is low. if they use Sunday train to catch up on cars. there was a crew shorted laet night and right no one what to help the company out after they laid people off.
