CSX Location Update 9-19-09

The radio propogation is very high this morning and we heard mention there is a derailment blocking bot CSX mains tracks at Wellsboro, Indiana.

ATCS here around Deshler shows a complete absence of trains on the Willard/Garrett Subdivisions.

Anyone know what's going on?

Edit: 07:19, CSX Dispatcher telling trains they will get pilots over NS. Sounds like a major malfunction someplace.

Laporte Country Sherriff is reporting an undetemined number of cars in a 57 cars eastbound derailed near 800 South crossing in Union Mills around 3:30am. Hazmat team has been called due to one of the cars is carrying a corrosive liquid. All cars are upright but an undetermined number have left the track. Hope the guys that are meeting in South Bend today get some nice shots of this for us...

Two crews DH'ing to Wally World from GRP and it looks like an S39318 will be coming thru Michigan this evening. BNSF 4873 BNSF 4966 9x119 5031 tons and 8067 feets.

And all the GR people are in South Bend/Elkhart!
On second thought, nevermind. They're in train heaven down there, they don't care an ounce about this state.

Guys...I just got back from Wellsboro...it's a mess. I did run into Zack and the boys there as well. They probably won't have good pics, you can't really get near the derailment. It is just east of the diamond, CN is still running. There were 5 empty well cars just to the east of the diamond and they were working on rerailing the rest of the train.

The road is closed that runs a long the tracks and the police are keeping every one away.

That was at noon and they had a long, long way to go. I saw one reroute through LaPorte when I was there.

Steve is right we ran down from South Bend to Wellsboro what a waste of time, got a few shots through the trees missed 500,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.8 trains while we were gone but South Bend was great looking forward to Elkhart in the morning.

grand rapids was short crews.so csx took garrett crew that worked in grand rapids to run the reroutes to grand rapids.

Don't get too excited about reroutes, on ATCS now it looks like things are starting to run again in Wellsboro.

There is a huge tie gang working between Wellsboro and Nappenee. The assests are in place for a speedy recovery and as of last night o'dark thirty of the 21st, speed is 25 mph though the derailment site with all wreckage re=railed and gone. Nothing to see here... move along...
