UP 2001

Any word on UP 2001 as of December 1, 2010?

admin edit: merged the thread started by csxindyline with this one, don't need two topics on UP 2001.

Wouldn't make senseto shuffle a UP unit deeper into NS territory. That is unless it has one of those NS lease tages which I'd doubt it does, considering it is a UP Heritage unit :D

Roger that. Pretty odd it would come back from Elkhart. UP usually doesn't like the heritage units/special schemed engines going off system at all, let alone going east, coming that close to home and going back once again.

They usually go straight back. Back to Bellevue makes no sense if it is trying to get back to UP rails.

Think about Franklin Park, the heritage unit goes in the night before and goes out the morning after its done. Something says they like 'em!!

Once it gets on a foreign railroad there is nothing UP can do. NS is power short. Do you really think NS cares that it is a heritage unit when they need an engine? UP might be wiser on their run through engines.
The dispatcher is cool.

Went out on 13Q, and arrived into Elkhart at 0200 yesterday morning. Should be gone from Elkhart by now.

Its NOT a heratige UNIT. IT is a specally painted UNIT, but NOT a HERATIGE unit. And the pair have been off line more then you guys think. It's just another SD70M to UP.
