Caught both Amtrak 54 (the northbound Vermonter) and 463 (a southbound NEC Shuttle) today out here in Connecticut, and also explored some local RR-served businesses to try to figure out some local freight operations.

Apparently 48 and 49 will be running over the Michigan line today. 49 will be picking up an ITCS leader off of 353 at Dearborn.

So 49 probably leaves Dearborn at 12:45/ 1ish? And then does 48 have a normal departure out of Chicago?

And what about 29/30?

29 made it to Bryan, Ohio before stopping. Passengers were bussed to destinations beyond and the train is/has been returned to Toledo for servicing and turning. Amtrak will again do a bustitution from Chicago and the train will run east from Toledo.
Unfortunately, due to the speed restrictions on the Michigan Line-East, SD80MAC's 1800 (CDT, Ken) projection for 49 is accurate.

What is the estamated depature from Dearborn after getting an itcs p42?

353 is supposed to get to Dearborn at 11:50. They will have to take the rear p42 turn it somewhere (Wayne junction? Willow run?!? I'm not sure of turning locations for engines in that area...) then get it to the from of 49. With all that said are we looking at like a 12:45-1 pm departure from Dearborn for 49?

Maybe they can use greenfield villages turntable

Edit: will the crew go dead on the Michigan line?

Re-route #49 was northbound at "FN" in Trenton, Michigan @ 1230, EDT. The unit off #353 was sent to Bay City Junction in Detroit, Michigan to turn the locomotive so it can lead westbound re-route 349. Re-route 349 should go up the Junction Yard Secondary ftom "YD" in River Rouge, Michigan to "TOWNLINE" in Dearborn, Michigan.

Train should be assembled at Dearborn, Michigan for the run west after an air test so I would ASSume it should be out of Dearborn, MI around 1330 or so EDT.
