P371 is coming out at Ann St at 0728. They are picking up new bulletins at the yard office. Multiple crossing activation failures just west of Grandville due to a broken rail in a crossing.

P371 is coming out at Ann St at 0728. They are picking up new bulletins at the yard office. Multiple crossing activation failures just west of Grandville due to a broken rail in a crossing.

I was under the impression that it was all predictors through there. Are you sure they are not activations instead of activation failures? Broken rail with a predictor or motion detector will just kick on all the crossings with circuits overlapping the break.

Ac/Dc or dc will also kick on until a train comes onto that circuit typically and then set up a stick relay. If there is a stick release timer, the crossing will kick back on after the timer runs up.

I just cannot see how they would get multiple activation failures (crossing not coming on at all), and think you meant to say they were activations (crossing on with no train around).

Heard news of a Z627 headed north through Muskegon, in grand haven around 8 with a large number of sand cars.

interesting note, not 100% train related, semi trailer took out a power pole at Grand Sales and Surplus about 20 minutes ago, wires down over the tracks etc...

Hearing dispatcher talking about Z627 again, so not sure if he's referring to the morning move, or if there's another one down around Holland again. D80211 at Holland going west lite power, hearing D80111 is on engines at Wells and has a dead battery, can't start engines at the moment.

There is an approach signal at east Trowbridge for a westbound. Anyone know what this would be? A grain train? I see there was already a E945 today so I doubt it's another one

D708 would be my guess.

Hearing dispatcher talking about D708 just now returning to Ensel, that that was your westbound. No E945's reported today that I read, just the E949 I mentioned from West Olive to Chicago.
I think D70711 got annulled again today, nothing out of them.
