CSX Train Location Updates: 8/16/13.

Getting pretty good reception on my scanner tonight.
I just heard E949-14 at Saugatuck...this is the first signal I heard clearly. I also heard her a couple of times before this, so around milepost 30 and near Holland.
I'm guessing the train will be in the Benton Harbor area around 2am or so.

Three of them were Ogihara scrap gon empties which gives them six in the plant currently. Wednesday, 708 picked up 9 scrap loads from there. Today, they picked up 21 cars at Webberville, and are currently picking up 19 from GLC and will return to Ensel with 40 cars soon. Departed Howell @13:35.

Todays Ann Pere pick up, makes a total of 60 cars picked up there in the last three days, even though 41 of them were cars GLC brought to Howell last week. 21 of them were in the transfer, 20 more in GLC's Howell passing siding, waiting for the first 21 to get picked up so they could bring the other 20 to the transfer. Without any hazmat weigh bills, on 17 of the first 21 cars, CSX wouldn't touch any of them. Rules are rules.

Meanwhile, N95613 BNSF 8960 9074 made it by Howell at 06:47 this morning, but had to wait at Plymouth for a pilot crew for hours before departing northbound.. Q335 today had 8599 8734 for power with 122 cars.

Late report, but Y107-16 was headed Northbound towards Plymouth around Noon after switching Plastipak in Westland with 6 covered hoppers and a KCS boxcar that is either for PCA in Plymouth or Westland Lumber. Consist was a CSX YN3 GP38-2 (Sorry, no numbers, but a nice Leslie horn) 6 covered hoppers, 1 boxcar, and a Chessie System cupola caboose.

Meanwhile on the Detroit Sub, I don't know if D739-16 was switching the "Levan Spur", but there were many boxcars occupying the spur between the main switch and the Veronica Avenue crossing. They looked like they were all for Valassis.

Q335 is in GR Wyoming yard

D700 brought back 6 from Coloma / Hartford. they were to Wyoming yard by 2:00 (passed them along Chicago Dr. around 1:45 near Grandville with an Approach Medium at Port Jenison)

Y121 was finishing their work at Zeeland Lumber a little earlier. I saw them shove a Box and a chessie cab back to waverly around noon
