Our nightly empty grain train was G34112 this time, CSX 399 & 377 for power with 91 cars. This one finally went to Webberville after three in a row for Grand Ledge, and one for Newaygo. Power stayed at Webberville. D708 on its way back to Ensel already from Ann Pere at 13:30 with only six cars and CSX 6930 & 2301. No cars from GLC for pick up today.

Don't believe, and once again, that Q335 has been by yet. Perhaps there isn't one today.

Just heard on WOOD Radio that Consumers Power is having trouble getting coal - coal traffic to West Olive has been very light this fall...

Is this separate from the news stories today about the troubles with getting the Buffalo and other shipments to Cobb? They're saying they usually have their winter shipments done by December, but including today there will be 3 shipments, ending by Jan 1.

Q335 was rolling through Ensel about 5-10 minutes ago. Something eastbound hit the Okemos DD about the same time.

In past news, D708 returned to Ensel at around 1440 today.

Any speculation as to why they are having trouble getting it?

The foam caused by the CITX unit really took its toll.

West Olive has been pretty quiet recently. You can almost count on 1 hand the number loads they've gotten over the last couple of weeks.

Speaking of that, how about Essexville? They sent that one empty train through then nothing more. Are there simply no trains or are those trains routed through Garrett?

19:34 EST: Someone just picked up an EC-1 for the Power Block in the northward direction; BNSF units leading. Amtrak is at Joy per the RN.

One?? We have had three Essexville empties even though two of three had CSX power. Had two E917 trains and one E951. With the train numbers, I think what we are getting is not the norm, only "reroutes" via GRP considering our former numbers were E945 when running steady.

Same story up here, Manistee is expecting another 5 boats 4 for Filer City and 1 for Mortons. The lake and canal are already frozen. Today I heard there was a boat stuck in the ice in Muskegon maybe going to Cobb.

Guess I haven't been reading as close as I thought I have.

I too have been wondering why they have not used the E945 symbol...could someone with insider status be kind enough to inform us?

YM has told a crew to be sure to "not break" one of their locomotives, sounds like they are power-hungry over there. YM needs not be reminded of the Q334s that stalled fresh from Wyoming...

Sounds like Q335 is in the yard finally, and Q334 is milling about.

I think West Olive (J.H Campbell) might have one of the units down for a maintenance outage. And possibly one of the dumpers and or piling equipment might be down for maintenance as well.
