Wow, I might actually be able to photograph something other than Amtrak today south of Holland. Thanks for the update, Don. :)

Thanks, Don. Sounded like a TI wanted Grand Junction to Grandville and she wasn't sure when a crew would be on duty. Hopefully 937 doesn't end up sitting there all day. Colors are peaking this weekend and it's beautiful out here. Just need some subjects to shoot! :)

JT - we just saw 2 or 3 hawks heading south from the back yard down the tracks (they hang out in the huge pine trees on the east side of the tracks). Probably the only thing we'll see up this way today...

Something went through Brighton around 8:40 this morning. It sounded like eastbound, based on the horn, but no way to confirm. Currently there is a clear indication on the main for a westbound move at WE Brighton.

Q335 on the move west from Fox. CSX 5439 leading with around 9500 feet of train behind.
E937 is sitting on the double track between Lamar and Grandville. The power is sitting under the 28th St overpass. BNSF GEVO and a Grinstein 70MAC.

That is a very long Q335. Wonder what the longest Q335 is/was? I know what the shortest Q334 is. I've seen them run lite power to Toledo a few times on Sunday night. Once I saw them take a single bulk head flat.

Thanks for the update, Tim. I was just leaving Lowes in Holland when I read it. I scooted down to NR and hiked up to a tree that I had spiked earlier. Was able to climb 20+ feet up just in time to get my shot as they came around the s-curve about a half mile east of the bridge. Oh, and both sides of the tracks are now posted as public hunting areas. :D (yes, I'm dressed appropriately)

We were at Lowes, too - we checked out around 3:55 PM! We decided not to head south to intercept - I had a project underway under the sink that was just too much fun to leave...

There are two coal trains coming into Holland this evening. First one is passing me now just east of East Saugatuck with BNSF 9326 & 9125. The second one is either arriving soon at Wells or already there. Sounds like the pushers cut off this train at ES and are heading back down to Wells. D801 is the pusher set and D802 is leading the coal train east.

Of course, this all happens after sunset. BAH!

Edit. Sounds like D802, after taking this train to West Olive, will head back down to Wells to be the lead power on N910. D801 is going to be waiting a while down there.
