Romulus was poppin’ with extra grain trains yesterday. Although around 3 am we had a northbound grain go through with CSX 3046 and 34 leading. If someone could help me out with that symbol it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Per Deshler Cam train logs, it was reported this train as G756 > Cicero, IL (BNSF) to Wixom, MI yesterday in the May 2024 updates with the same power

U302-31 2nd engine should be CSX #834 per Deshler Log, previously assigned to M565-27.

Very surprised no one saw or reported U302-31 last night, except forTom49801 reporting it west of Lansing. Could hear them calling signals all the way to Lake Odessa, yet with no other skip traffic around except for what sounded like an NS computer voice that said, "NS 61423 Activated, Metropolitan out" every 5 to 7 minutes. (or something similar to that). With yesterday's L302-31 being short, U302-31 had ballast or stone loads on the front, miscellaneous fright with quite a few auto racks and a long string of gondolas on the end, many lettered ZVBX. If there was any train that could be a part of Lake State traffic, this would have been it. Trailing unit behind 899 was 834 which I read as 934. Had not seen either one of this since 2016 & 2017.

That had to be the G756 from the BNSF in Chicago. When I went fishing in Northville last night I saw two back to back southbound Grainers. Never thought I'd see that again on the old C&O. There was southbound grainer that ran at 5:30 in the morning on Friday. That was a G757. So essentially Plymouth had 4 grain trains in less than 24 hours. Kinda like the good ol days!

If you were scanning channels, you were probably picking up Oakwood Yard, as they have an SD40 #6143” in RCO service

The RCO SD40’s in Oakwood yard “talk” a lot. When the RCO tech turns on, it’ll say (6143 for example) “NS 6143 activated, NS 6143 out”.

You’ll also hear things like that “NS 6143, pullback protection off, brake pipe fully charged, out”.
