GLC Train Location Updates - Sept 2024

Unread post by LansingRailFan »

07:14 - SB GLC thru Durand with 386/382/391 and 11 cars for Osmer

13:45-59 - NB GLC with 391/382/386 thru from Pitt Junction to Durand Yard with a loaded soybean train from NS/AARR in Osmer. Train is for ZFS Ithaca. This would be their sixth (?) so far and third from NS/AARR with the other three coming from CN.

Could not tell at 50mph, but 3 trucks and 5 guys, one was up on the signal cantilever. That was about 3:45pm. If you saw them at 10:30, must be some major work on those. Also the signal hut door was open.

Went for a closer look. Replaced all of the lower light heads on both South Airport Road crossings with LED light heads. The light heads on the cantilevers have not been replaced (though those will require a boom truck).

The contractor (CDL Electric) also did work on the Garfield Avenue crossing signals in TC (on the Williamsburg branch) today. Also, they painted the parts that should be black back to black (many parts were faded to silver). Same with the South Airport Road crossings (both).

20:58 South past Lakeland. There was a cut of cars between chilson rd and brighton lake rd it looks like they picked up as they were at coon lake rd around 8pm (via apple traffic)

Went by chilson 9/8 and the cars were still there….

Signal/Crossing Maintenance occurred at Brownson Avenue in Kingsley (by the High School) on Thursday. No visible changes other than the LED light housings have been repainted in a few spots.
