CSX GRE MQT Train Location Update 4-1-08

Two unit coal trains at the old GRI North yard waiting to go north 1 to the new power plant at Ludington, the other is for Tondu in Manistee. Power on one is new BNSF run thru, the other has Greinsteins. The 24 is out of the house, lights on and the crew is home. They have a half dozen Kings and an Amway or Precison Poly to spot. They have to wait until the the Rapid dispatcher finds room for them between the Ada-GR morning commuter "scoot's". Nothing from the NS, the tank and empty centerbeam are still on the outbound.

Raildude's Dad, you forgot the ferry traffic MQT will be taking to Ludington today. Ferry service is starting up today from Ludington to WI after a 15+ year hiatis. Mike H and those guys at MQT are hard at work drumming up new business.

That's wrong. I heard it was a Big Boy pulling one of those loads.

I've seen wide cabs plenty of times on that line in the past, but for some reason the thought of seeing one now just seems really odd.

GRE went east through Ada at about 9:30 this morning. Didn't hear them coming back.

They brought back a few Kings, the empty FRE gon and what appeared to be a Precsion Poly. 1 inbound center beam on NS tonight.

Did 327 bring a RPHCE thing or the B36 from Plymouth with it to GR today, I saw a older GE body but didn't catch up intime to get numbers when they stopped sort of the switches in S. Lyon.
