Looks quiet today at the GRE. 4 more inbound BN's overnight for King. The little engine that could, got all 26 to Ada ysterday  . 119 still pushing 371. I'll be checking Ludington to Walhala this afternoon, hopefully, a little MQT recap tomorrow morning.

Were all 26 for Amway or did some go to Kings in Lowell :?: Did it take them more than one trip :?:

7:20am - Looks like maybe Q334 easing by us at CH 79.9? Defect detector reported 2429' and 208 axles. This ought to have been followed by a call for Clear Okemos or Clear Meridian; heard neither, but the burst of static was at the right time for Clear Meridian, ergo an eastbound.

7:37am - Some kind of light power move following Q334 east. Must have been a single loco...110', 6 axles. Dispatcher was talking to someone--Ensel? Track boss? -- and said that Q334 was already past and Q335 was running late.

2 were for Amway, 24 for King. They doubled the hill out of GR, 13 at a time. The rear 13 were left on the Grand River bridge as they went up the hill the first time as far as Ada, switched Amway and then came back for the rest. They returned with 9 cars later in the day.

As for today's info, X500 is heading into Gross to meet Amtrak, then running from the law in an effort to make GR. W080 will be heading west soon to dump more ballast. I believe it is to be dumped between Hudsonville and Holland but don't quote me on that.

A NS 29K went through Toledo around 1230 today with a CSX SD70 as solo leader on a string of empty autoracks. Should be Detroit bound by now...

Michael

I know Zack already posted the Q335-11 update, but here's some details:

I saw them at 12noon hit the diamonds at Romulus. 94 cars. Power: CSXT 8607 and CSXT 8564. Lots of rough looking CSX covered hoppers toward the front. Plenty of gondolas throughout. Nice to see a good sized train going toward GR :)

Also, at 1:15, an unidentified northbound CSX engine move made its way over the Romulus diamond. Power was CSXT 2631 (last Geep in real YN1/Scheme 5 colors), and RLCX 1803, the former Illinois Central first generation Geep from New Boston. Don't know the symbol or destination.

The Morning Trains

Going back to the 7:00-8:00 am hour when Mikekmac reported the two eastbounds near Okemos, the first train was a K902-11 empty stone train out of Ensel with CSX 7651-519 for power. Second train with light engines was a G010-11 going to Webberville to pick up a grain load with CSX 488-4746 for power. The grain load was picked up at Fowlerville by a road crew and now called G386-11 who found todays Q335-11 in the Brighton pass waiting for them, whose power already reported.

Todays Q334-11, with CSX 8527-8875 was long gone before the K902 and G010 went east. Meanwhile, D709-11 spend 45 minutes working Webberville grain within minutes after G010 left with the load, and has just now gone over the Fowlerville DD at 235pm with 52 axels. They are currently working at Rhtec, but with todays Q335 and Q327 approaching, they need to clear the main soon or a back up will occur.

It was a rare day on Wednesday, when D709-10 did absoultly no work at Thermofil and hyballed thru town, but did switch Pinckney Plastics, Ogihara, went all the way to South Lyon and back to pick up the two Century Truss lumber empties, set off 3 AnnPere cars, picked up none, and gave International Paper a switch for the first time this week. (which was not D709s fault as it took IP five days to unload the last four loads in the plant) There is currently 11 loads on the spur for the next time a switch gets made. I suspect with no Thermofil switch yesterday, D709 may be there four to six hours today.

2631 may be the last GP38-2 in original YN1 scheme 5 colors, but there is another, GP40-2 6027 to match this. 19 others are in original YN1 paint, 2 B36-7s, 16 SD40-2 and 1 SD50. Meanwhile, there are 29 others painted with yellow ends and frame stripes from previous schemes to make them look like YN1's, albeit not original.

Yes! Thanks Bob M. for reminding me of the elusive 6027, also in original YN1 Scheme 5. I just saw one of the 8400 series Scheme 5 SD40-2s this past week. 8508 is the Scheme 5 SD50.

Any update as to where Q326 is at? Also is CSXT 1301 with it?

Any idea on the location of the Northbound train with the RLCX engine?
