Yes there were. I never said who was on the train because I didn't know yesterday. It's still a "private charter" and a "special train" according to my source and he was on the train riding in the car yesterday.

the Chapel Hill was sitting at Osmer MI (north of Ann Arbor) since the AM im guessing....drove by there before lunch today and it was sitting on the northend by herself (stoopid camera batteries goin dead :? ) no automobiles around at all ...looked almost vacant...heard the GLC before noon make some quick moves and leave IN A HURRY!!!....i cant see the line from my work as its east of US23 and im west but i can hear them working Osmer most days and today they left in run 8 over Joy rd all the way to 6 mile
i hate the interstate and the infernal combustion engine
nothing is sweeter then the smell of coalsmoke in the morning

It's a beautiful car outside but is 100X better inside. I had the priveledge to ride on it when it was on the 1st Northern Arrow. It's awesome going thru a town on the rear end and waving to everybody while eating an ice cream bar.

The first Northern Arrow had the Georgia 300 in place of the CH.

CH was there the second year.

And they both were very nice on the interior. Eating lunch was awesome on the 300 :D . Best conductor gigs I've had 8)

Sorry it was the second. My old fart moment for the day! :D :P
OK so i've ridden on both previous trips, and one was the Georgia 300 and the other the Chapel Hill. I couldn't remember what the order was but hey, i had a 50/50 chance of being right. Both are nice on the inside aand ride nice and smooth.

You don't have to be Bill Gates rich - just multi-millionair rich:

That's only $1,000/person/day - anyone wanna go on a joy ride and split the cost?

Or for about the same price I could have a week-long railfan vacation anywhere in the Midwest. Really, that's a tough call...
